So in my relatively short time in playing Destiny (about 4-6 months) I've come across so many blue/rare items that have a higher Light than my purple/Legendaries. I know I can infuse (and I do) but it just rustles my jimmies that drops that are more common are in a way stronger than the rare items. Thoughts?

The only reason to use purple is that if you like it, you can infuse them up
-
Bungie; cuz! Guardians; so you use more parts for infusion and then have to go grind for more parts for infusion.

3 RepliesAverage level for blue drops: 280-297 Average level for purple drops: 270-285 Thanks Obama.

They are made this way to force you to use the leveling system. You pick the perks you like in legendary gear. Then level using rare and exotics for the most part. About 80 percent of your combat items are purple. It was a smart why to make you have to use multiple items to create your perfect fit.

2 RepliesIt's that you get more rares than legendaries. With RNG determining light level, and your current light level determining what range of levels items will drop in, it's much more likely to find better blues than the legendaries you have up to a point (the limit is 300 light on a blue/purple unless it's a reward from something) Anyway, you get rares more often so there are more chances to get something better. Just wish that once you go above 300 light that they would stop throwing you 260's. 280's would be fine but... Really bungie just wants to make you play their game more to get any kind of decent reward.

Edited by Ristar: 2/27/2016 4:11:57 AMEach armor piece should have a unique stat(like the boots have Second Wind). Otherwise, why even bother infusing it. Examples: - increased reload speed while capturing a zone - armor increase while holding the relic - shields regen after defending a teammate

1 ReplyBungie: "You know what everyone hates....really bad RNG in a loot based game where the loot literately dictates your actual progression in the game....so we are going to do something different in year 2!" Players: "Oh my god they are going to improve the loot system and make it easier for us to level...wait.....what the -blam!- is this?" Bungie: "That's right, now, not only will the old system be in play, we are also going to make it so any loot you get now has a completely random value attached to it as well....since it's an added feature, that automatically makes it better right?!" Players: "......."

Infusion fuel is rares for my legendaries that have better perks. Really not much to figure out.

It's not about the light, it's about the perks. High Light Rares are just Legendary/Exotic food.
-
1 ReplyIt will probably never happen but, i think legendary gear should behave like exotics, to an extent. Like how once you are over 310 light level, exotics decrypt to 310 guaranteed. What if, at 310 light level and above, legendary engrams decrypted to 300?

make marks out of the legendaries and use the rares to boost the ones you want. Bungie did not put a lot of thought in this soup sandwich of a game.
-
The atk and def might be higher but legendaries have better perks. The rares are like that for infusion
-
Because Bungle doesn't know how to make a game

Just random infusion fuel. Had a blue 299 pulse rifle drop. Cant remember name something msm. But had high impact with headseeker. Wish i kept it.
