DeeJ and Cozmo - PLEASE Read. No shaming here. This is my last post to the community.

DeeJ and Cozmo, Please allow me the opportunity to open this with stating that I do not intend to shame or disrespect you, the game or Bungie in this message. What I want to do is share some final thoughts with you concerning my view on the current state of the Destiny Realm in the most thoughtful way that I can compose before I log out of the community for the last time. To begin, I am a PVE first person shooter game enthusiast going way back to 386 days of computing. So much of a PC gaming enthusiast that my moving into console game was very limited. When destiny came out though, I was quickly pulled into the game because of the few console game of this genre that I played, this one was the closest to the PC experience I enjoy so much and had seen. I began my journey in Destiny on the Xbox One, 3 weeks after release. It was not long after this that I experienced such issues with my XBOX One that I abandoned it for a PS4 and I have been playing this game almost daily since. Since first release of this game, I have purchased all three DLC's and played through them all through max character level and I enjoyed every minute of that experience up until this Iron banner started last week. When IB kicked off I was eager to start playing it but it did not take long for this feeling to fade; especially with the countless 'Weasel Error' and 'Baboon Error' codes I experienced. None the less I powered through without to much trouble. But Still, these are things I should have not been experiencing and posting my problems in the forums had the appearance of falling on deaf ears and blind eyes. Now, I know it is not entirely fair that I say that since I know you guys are literally drowning in these types of posts but the fact remains that even as I type this, I'm getting booted for the same errors. This, brings me to the next issue I wanted to discuss; PVP and crucible. With the two most recent weekly updates from Bungie, came news of IB and Crimson Doubles. The issues I take with all of this is the lack of communication regarding PVE content which is why I am writing this post in hopes that you read. First and Foremost, I am a PVE player that enjoys crucible from time to time but basically plays it as needed. Going forth from this point, with PVP being what appears to be the only thing on the forefront for destiny, I am admittedly disillusioned by the game. PVP is not why I bought into Destiny and is ultimately not why I want to keep playing it. Which brings me to my closing point of this post. Frankly, I'm loosing interest in the game very quickly and honestly, my experiences thus far with destiny and past expenditures are telling me to steer clear of Destiny 2 for fear it will end up just like this addition did. I spent a lot of money on this game and 3 DLC's for 2 consoles which in the end is only causing me internal struggle of trading the discs in or not. Looking ahead, not matter if I keep playing or not or even if I walk away and never come back, I would urge you to reconsider the PVP direction of this game. PVP, in over whelming community evidence, should show where the bulk of your problems lie. In any game I have ever played, I have not seen as much complaining about weapons, armor, abilities and what not as this game and frankly, I can see why you guys quit listening. Perhaps going forth, if emphasis what put back into the PVE aspect of the game and PVP made into a small portion of the game, than real feedback would percolate to the top. As it stands now, Players like me who enjoy PVE over PVP, the ones who adopted this game early on, quickly, and brought life to it, are quickly leaving. Point is, once we are gone, based on passed experience we will likely not come back. Destiny was never intended to be another Call of Duty which is why it is becoming quickly hated. Trials of Osiris especially. My promise to you is that I will continue to play Destiny through the end of February to see where it goes. After that, I can not guarantee I will be logging in anymore. So, I urge you to make a gesture soon, to correct the misguiding's of all 3 DLC's, unsegregate the games populous and give all the content we paid for and not the irrelevant PVP events; After all, they are not content. What I mean is real story missions that don't recycle existing maps, real raids that are more than just the next step of story mission quests, etc. Plus, those of us who bought the game, whether TTK was purchased or not paid for Year 1 Exotics and most were taken away with TTK. Perhaps, if new content was actually given versus recycled, there would be no need to create the levels of playership based on DLC purchases. WOW Me or loose me. Signed Unhappy Destiny Fan EDIT 1: I would like to extend a warm thank you and a firm handshake for the many kind responces. Obviously, I'm not alone in my hopes for destiny. Let's together keep this thread at the top of the forum for all to see and by all means; keep posting. EDIT 2: Thank you again to all who continue to support this post.

  • I agree entirely. The lack of PVE content is disheartening. I can't stand crucible but km forced to play it because it's one of the only things aside from the raid that drops good gear. And even then it's sparing. Please bungie, give us back the wonder and excitement we had at launch of year 1 and year 2. We need more PVE content. More story. You made an amazing universe. Please keep it alive. I want a shooter that's not COD.

    • I agree with you 95%. The main problem is that we WANT to continue playing, we like the game, but keep getting tricked. No new pve content, doing the same strikes and raids over and over again. How many times can i do the same thing? And the pvp? Getting over all the issues, and there are a lot more issues than you mentioned, i played over 300 games this iron banner, and did not get 1 drop over 302, except for ghost shell and when i reached rank 5. I saw players with 2 kills in the match getting a 314 armor or weapon. Dissapointing and frustrating describes my overall experience with the past 2 Iron Banners. I like this game, and i like playing it with my friends, but you guys give us no reason to come back.

      • I think that articulates how many of us feel. I am feeling the same way. Many of the people I used to play with are gone. I never had a hard time doing the nightfall and the raids with friends. Many weeks I ran nightfall more than the 3 times to help friends. It even takes awhile to go on the forums to find people. Bungie needs to look at themselves in the mirror and question themselves. I would like to hear a true comment from the new CEO as to his plans. Not the standard I am going to drive excellence.

        • What's worse is not a peep from Bungle about any future pve content, except fixing teleporting Ogres. Maybe the future is Cod, short story and mostly pvp.

          • THIS KIND OF POST IS EXACTLY WHAT THIS COMMUNITY NEEDS. People are wayyyy to quick to go on firebrand rants about issues that aren't that huge of a deal without offering any solutions or even allowing counter arguments. All of this is true and I hope you keep playing but serious props to you for being mature about this issue.

Signed and agreed. Pvp makes people salty, people cant handle it. I agree that this isnt what I signed up for either, I remember playing VoG the first week and thinking wow, whats going to be after this? I cant wait until Bungie starts delivering more content. And year 1 went well as far as content goes only compared to where we are now with the pvp live events. My first thought after playing a week or two of TTK was, WHERE ARE ALL THE QUESTS?? Take some lore, no, just make some up. There's this super crazy team of Vex that just took over the Endless steps with bosses and groups of enemies you need to hunt down and kill so that you may restore order to Venus and keep the Vex from seizing our worlds! A simple quest like this would bring such life to pve. Its astonishing. I posted on feedback about how adding more quests would enrich the game but I was ignored and my post lost in the forums to the excitement of Festival of the Lost and SRL... Ive considered working for Bungie to help them with pve, thats how far this addiction goes, thats how much I care. Bungie's writer left before the game started, that's why they need someone who cares about lore, who's willing to give the community fresh lore every week and new missions and quest updates every couple weeks.

We already have enough people saying," O My Gosh Destiny I'm fed up with your poop, I'm leaving forever and I need everyone to hear me say this!". I'm going to speak for a lot of people on the forums in just a second,we don't need you here if you're only going to complain about the game. Just leave the game and stop posting. Or play the game and shut up.

Your post assumes: 1. Someone from Bungievision is reading it 2. That Bungievision cares 3. That the SOP Bungievision has been using will somehow change in the future ...Sorry friend, they don't care about you, your friends, or what you all really want. They just want your $, that's it. Their track record has proven it

Im not going to threaten not to play the game, I just simply won't at some point, if new content isn't being created. Bungie gets paid only once when you buy the game, and it delivers a certain amount of content when you purchase it, they aren't really responsible for anything after that, unless they want to make this the long lived game it has the makings to be. Once a game has been defeated, it becomes no fun. That is the jist I supposed of some of these fans, and rightly so. Although I am fairly new to the scene, only a month or two. I am already 300 + light with two characters. It has been fun, and I have been obsessed outside of work. I would love to see the game continue, and I think that some fans don't understand that we need to pay for new content. 50- 60 dollars, or whatever you paid, you should know that many games you buy give you one static story line, you can play once as new. Bungie can't possibly put out new content when they aren't being paid for more work. Though I must say, you have to find a way to keep us into the game between content drops or expansion. I think that many players that are tapping out on there levels, and light, have done so in a month. Without a subscription based game, users .... you will not be able to get your new content. As for the current state of the game I have some issues and have listed them, to me these are the things I think that must be fixed in future releases or now if possible. Personally, this game feels like a mix between, World of Warcraft and Call of Duty, AND ..... this is the reason I play it. There are several aspects of the game however, that make this game frustrating to play, aside from connection issues, bugs, and other nuisances. These are issues that appear to be a simple fix and are more like polishing the game as a matter of speaking. These same issues, are the exact ones that make me wonder if this is a serious franchise, or another game to be buried in the annals of gaming history. Why I chose to write a complaint is simply because, I think this whole experience is taking this genre into the future, and I would absolutely hate to see it washed away over simple fixes. You need to keep your customer happy, and it is hard to do that when so many would like to point out general failures. You need specifics. Things you can do right now, to correct small issues that become part of a larger part of why this game won't survive. Number one - On screen arrangement ..Put a small text box or find another way to describe weapon and armor upgrades so they don't block you view of Stat Graph. This is so annoying, that it makes me wonder how it even happened to be this way. Upgrading weapons and armor is a great part of the game, and right in the middle of it, you make it so you can't see what your doing. Yes, i can try to approach it from the top, or the bottom with my cursor, and MAYBE I might be able to see what stats have changed, but the description text of the upgrade more often than not, still blocks view of what stats are being changed and by how much. Some may see this as a small thing, and it is, but it needs to be fixed. Put it in another un-used area of the screen... somewhere else. Make it a difficult game, don't make the game difficult to play. Number Two - Do something about the load time between differnt areas while in orbit or going to another realm in the game. When you complete a quest on Earth, you should not have to go to orbit, then fly back, when you were just there. I don't personally know how to fix that one, but someone needs to figure it out. If you can't, then insert a mini game or something. It is very unintersting to be hovering about for 30 to 40 seconds then go through some wormhole, hover about for another 30 to 40 seconds and then woosh of to fly again for the same amount of time, then get a loading screen in between somewhere, finally back to the place I just was at. Number three - Quest information - Several issues with questing information. First just state. Planet, Area, Boss/ Action - somewhere readily available. Secondly, when selecting a quest to view details. Many times, if not in all cases, none of the previous steps are checked off. This is weird. Sometimes this game feels like it is just incomplete.Be serious about this game please. Gear Drops - - Yes, PvP gear drops, are insanely random... ? Other than the awards for rep, and bounties, players I think are mainly concerned with being rewarded with something the equals there abilities and there efforts. Random drops are great! BUT, no drops and a great performance, are the opposite of great, and in fact I bet it is a reason why many people wouldn't or don't participate in crucible because, gamers like to do things that get them rewarded. They don't like to kick butt, then get nothing, or something that is more or less meaningless. I understand that we need gear to dismantle, and yes its important to get things we can't use, in order to turn them into something that we can. That being said, it would not perpetuate gameplay if we smoked it in the cruciable all day and got all the best gear we could ever need, then become disinterested because we have nothing left to strive for. So, gear drops have to be purposeful... and random.. how does one achieve that? Well, there are certain things that could be done in any environment within the game that could be considered amazing and those exact details don't need to be advertised, but we could get drops for doing them. Much like the way a 3 of Coins increases your chances of an exotic drop against an Ultra, PvP drops could work the same way but using performance based criterea. We don't need exotics necessarily but something we can use. Again, I understand some players that have alot of time, could still grind there way to the best stuff in a short amount of time, but for the average player, it would make it more interesting. In writing this, I have come to the conclusion, that it must be like climbing Mount Everest in a snow storm - to perpetuate gameplay and keep it interesting enough that players will come back to the same game day after day, and into the future. The only thing I know is that games are supposed to be fun and challenging.... rewarding. This one is. One thing I see, that I despise, is players that complain about not being able to get certain In Game items because they don't want to or can't do what it takes to get it. I'm one of those people that can't get a group together... I don't feel like that's a Bungie/ Destiny problem.... I did play Iron Banner for 8 straight hours to get to level 5. I got a 320 head piece for my Worlock, and 312 for my Titan. I was a little disappointed and left wondering how I'm going to gear up my titan helm to the same level, but I know that I still have work to do. The core of the game is solid, the ways in which you can acquire gear varies, and if you want certain gear, you can get it, but you have to do certain things to get it. I see nothing wrong with that. Just polish up the simple things that detract from the experience. Bungie, you also need to have a team set aside that can create maybe some bi-weekly missions that are NEW, and never repeat. I know it is hard to dedicate time to a project you a only being paid for once or twice, but we will continue to come back if you can bring us new things to achieve, and new content. You've created a world where the possibilities are endless. Make those possibilities, fantasy game realities. -So there - Some VERY SPECIFIC things you CAN do to keep this Destiny ball rolling. I hope you can.

                      • I agree on the basic principles of: 1. NEED NEW PVE CONTENT NOW!! 2. Please communicate to us what is coming. Soon. The drought has been real. We have seen a CEO get replaced. The rumor mill is churning with negativity. And yet, we hear nothing of any real new content. Week long Valentine's Day event is not content. It's a distraction. And so are weekly updates that tell us what's already happened. If we wanna know if it's raining outside today, we can look out our own window. We want to know what's coming in the NEAR future. And if it's nothing, then that's a real shame, because I love playing in this world, but need something new.

                          • I enjoy some of the PvP in this game. Namely Iron Banner Control. I love getting a team together and working for those points! Anyway.... I agree with you in that the PvE side is lacking. I won't assume that they don't have anything in the works, but if this game does, in fact, become PvP-only, I will be sorely disappointed. It will have meant hundreds of wasted hours developing more for a world that simply doesn't mean anything to the player base. The Book of Sorrows? All the tribulations of the Ishtar scientists in the Vex network? Osiris? Toland? Eris and her fireteam? If Destiny becomes exclusively a PvP game, all that lore won't mean a blasted thing. I sincerely hope there's still some story left.
