Now that Fallout 4 has been out long enough for us to have a decent opinion on, which fallout does everybody think is the best overall?
Personally:
3 (slightly) > NV > 4
4 just feels uninspired and watered down to me, but feel free to disagree
Edit- seems like there's no love for 3 here :(

Fallout 3 is my favourite, it reviewed better than all the others...

Fallout 4 for updated movement and combat (gameplay) Fallout NV for DLC, weapons, and clothes/armor (bonus content and in-game gear) Fallout 3 for story and setting (world). It was also my first fallout, and nostalgia is tough to argue with. Without more context, I cant tell you which is my favourite. They are all amazing in their own ways. I also liked the urban setting in Fallout 4, the factions on NV, and the voice-acting of Fallout 3 (Liam Neeson = dad = "I will find you and I will kill you")

Anyone who chose FO4 are noobs

NV>4>3

Fallout 4. Love the game by the looks, gameplay and new features. It is my favorite fallout yet ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

New Vegas > 4 >3. Might switch 3 & 4 around, because at least I was able to finish 3, but New Vegas (in my opinion) was undoubtedly the best.
-
New Vegas felt the most alive to me. It also had the best writing, and most freedom. Had it been a bit more polished I don't think this would even be a debate.

I love fallout but I think fallout 4 was overhyped it's fun but only for about 30 hours. The best one in my honest opinion is new vegas, alright gun customization, plenty of places to explore and lots of enemies

3 was stellar, but weapons and crafting were very limited. The Capitol Wasteland was by far the best setting a game like fallout could ever have, aside from the Pitt which was DLC unfortunately. New Vegas improved on every single game mechanic but the Mojave Wasteland was dreadfully boring and an all around game killer. Despite that, the Dead Money DLC+ hardcore mode+ 9 levels under = greatest gaming experience of my life. Honestly, I love almost all the changes in 4. Hardcore mode should of stayed and I miss the karma system, but I can look past that. The only thing that stops it from being a perfect game is THE BUTCHERED DIALOGUE SYSTEM! The emphasis on crafting over distribution of numbers to greatly determine character strength was a huge improvement. Fallout 3 had the best location. New Vegas needed the DLC to be good. Fallout 4 was a slight victim of pressure to be like a Bioware game. Fallout 4 Fallout 3 New Vegas DLC (yes I view it as separate) New Vegas

They added things but no e.g. weapon repairs, karma, and hardcore mode. 3-4-nv.

3 RepliesFallout 3 way above the others. I also love NV, just not as much. Fallout 4, it's just not right, I enjoy it but it doesn't feel quite like fallout to me.
-
2 RepliesNew Vegas objectively. 3 is OK story wise but 4 is -blam!-ing disaster. Also the setting is great in NV, anyone who claims it's just a desert doesn't understand the true definition of setting
-
Vegas cuz If I'm correct it has the most factions to choose from the most vaults and the 2nd biggest in the series

3 will always have my heart because it's the first Fallout I've ever played.

Fallout 3 really brought things to 3D quite well and created a great atmosphere. New Vegas was great in its own way, but always felt like a step backwards in terms of the setting (that's purely my opinion though). Fallout 4 started out amazing, fell victim to tropes and with being at the end of a long series, it all felt kinda "been there, done that." As much as I longed for more post-apocalyptic RPGs over the past few years, they're all starting to feel a little samey.

5 RepliesWhichever one isn't 4. They finally released a -blam!-ing patch todayso I can finish my game.
-
I'm having a great time with 4. As I did with NV, and 3. Bethesda makes a great game. I also enjoy the ES games and hit up ESO with my friends regularly.
-
New Vegas actually has a good story.
-
I love them all, but I've really probably had the most fun with 4
-
4: I hate how your actions have no consequences and there really isnt any choice. And no karma sucks. Love everything else

2 RepliesNV 4's story is kind of like 3 and the feature are basically just a modded NV
