Does bungie not realize that at the moment pulse rifles have some of the highest stability, highest range and fastest ttk out of any weapon?
I just want to point at everything wrong with pulse rifles and maybe a way to balance everything.
1. They have very little damage drop off so they are effective at long ranges being able to compete with scouts at all but the longest of ranges which often not a scenario people are put into as most maps are still small and cqc maps.
2. With nirwens mercy being sold recently many players have access to a great Pvp pulse rifle with max stability. For those of you who dont know this thing fires like a laser beam. This makes pulses very easy to use as little to no adjustments need to be made to compensate for recoil.
3. Pulse Rifles also have one of the fastest ttk of any primary being able to two burst other guardians with only a rate of fire slightly slower than hand cannons. This ability to kill things in two shots is unparalleled in the current meta and rivals thorn pre nerf.
As it stands something needs to be done to restore balance. They kill faster than all weapons at a longer range than most weapons and are the easiest primary to use.Just because I think it's funny if you actually read the post put a smiley face at the end of your comment
To balance this Pulses could take a rate of fire nerf across the board to make it so missed shots actually hurt you a lot more. Also other weapons such as hand cannons and autos should receive a slight stability and range buff to allow them to compete with pulses at mid range so pulse rifles do not dominate all ranges. Scouts could receive a rate of fire buff and a stability buff make them more viable at all ranges and to help off set these changes.

It just needs a stability nerf. You should not be able to reach max stability with the damage being this strong.
-
Hand cannons need a major buff Autos need a slight buff as well
-
No. Everything else just got nerfed when pulse rifles got buffed. In other words: buff everything else.
-
Still nowhere as bad as the thorn. You need to be in a clear gunfight with a PR to actually kill someone.

I don't like losing scout range fights against pulse rifles, but I don't think they are overly used. Popular? Hell ya. The only thing I see? Not yet... I wouldn't mind if they got tweaked, but I don't use them so I'm in no place to say. Oh and :)

3 RepliesPulse rifles compete on an almost equal standing to scout rifles, yet are significantly better at close range. Reduce range or stability. I'd say scouts and auto rifles are balanced. Hand Cannons need an accuracy buff.

If you're being 2 shotted by pulse rifles, try upping your armor stat.
-
No just to much range

1 ReplyAre all the other weapons too weak after being nerfed into the ground?
-
1 ReplyBefore 2.0 so many people on this forum were preening and saying that the gun didnt matter and how they could wreck with any weapon.... So to see these posts now is hilarious Pulses were better before taken king dropped.... Lag is a bigger reason that people lose gun fights than the particular weapon of choice

1 ReplySlight adjustment to ROF maybe for pulse rifles. Slight buff to hand cannon range and stability (please fix first curse, waited to 2 weeks for that POS. I was actually offended when I used that gun). Very slight buff to auto rifle range.
-
No more nerfing please. Soon we will be shooting pea shooters
-
no. auto rifles are too week(more stability and range and slight impact buff needed) . shotguns lost their range and scouts are OK I guess. I don't use hand Cannons too much. so idk on that front
-
1 ReplyOh shut up and leave the weapons alone
-
Purification process initiated
-
I started with scouts, then hand cannons, autos, and now use pulse rifles.
-
Agreed :)

9 RepliesThing is this was intentional and Bungie knew this would happen beforehand and next will be scouts .

4 RepliesDON'T WORRY!!! Bungie will nerf the crap out of them to please the 1% whining about them and the fact the "spreadsheet" -godwinslaw!- will tattle to Bungie on what the majority of the community is using. Of course this will most likely happen after most of us spend a lot of time upgrading and grinding for resources. The same SS -godwinslaw!- will tattle to Bungie on what the worst guns are that most of us hate to use and buff them way over the top. Then the cycle begins anew just to artificially expand the grind. I'm sure Tess will sell weapon and armor max tokens and also attack/defense tokens for a nominal fee. I wish this was a big joke but being a day one player this is the pattern they use. We (mostly PvE due to Crucible benefits) all have been burned spending a lot of time trying to find the guns we enjoy using and spending time upgrading. I just plan on picking one gun per type that I like the most and only grind to upgrade them so when they inevitably ruin a gun type I'll have another type to switch to without trying to find the best, worse weapon type.

Lets just remove weapons entirely from the game and decide matches with rock paper scissors. Oh wait rock might become OP and will need a nerf
Just STFU already
Edited by LordofChaos: 10/28/2015 9:31:29 PMGet over it this game will not ever be balanced like CoD/Halo/BF ever. nor was it ever meant to be either.

Lol, it's either people don't care to pit the smiley face at the end of their post or they don't know why :)

3 RepliesCan someone give me a review of the pulse on my warlock? For PvE
-
There will always be a Top Dog weapon, the META rolls with the changes and as of now, it's decently balanced. Some of us just need to accept it.
-
No pulse NERFS. Buff all the other weapon types, except scout
-
2 RepliesWhen it gets nerfed (and it will) something will take its place as "op". Autos then hand cannons and shottys, now pulse. All tinkering does is raise something else to that level as the meta adapts.
