First off, I'm prepared for the stream of "butt-hurt, git gud scrub" etc. replies and the attacks on my K/D record. I don't claim to be an all-pro PvP player, just someone who has been playing and observing what happens in the Crucible long enough to have a valid opinion. Come at me, bro.
Now to the topic:
Shotguns that kill in 1 or 2 shots at close range are NOT the problem in Iron Banner (or in Control matches generally). Nor are Titans who have an attack that kills one or two opponents per hit, cannot be aimed, runs down over time, runs out really fast when used, and is easy to see coming.
The problems are sniper rifles (no matter who's using them) and Nightstalkers.
Let me explain why I believe this.
SNIPER RIFLES
I have no problem with being killed by a shotgun user. That player is running the risk of being killed before getting into range to use his shotgun. It's a fair fight, and shotguns have terrible aim assist as far as I can tell. At the range where they're used, enemies are moving around so much that aiming isn't generally a factor anyway. It's a knife fight in a phone booth.
Snipers in Destiny, especially in a Control match, often have to do nothing but sit down over the line that enemies have to travel in order to get to a zone, put the crosshairs at head height, then wait for the aim assist to tell them to pull the trigger. 2 snipers on a map like Pantheon whose team manages to grab zone B first can simply camp and dominate the main lanes, using no skill, just positioning and twitch reflexes.
People complain about the lack of skill needed for a shotgun, but what of a sniper rifle which has 0 scope wobble? Do Guardians have the ability to infinitely hold their breath? I would not mind snipers in PvP if they had even this tiny element of realism. As it is, when you see the lens flare, it's already too late to do anything about it.
NIGHTSTALKERS
Admit it. Your super is as OP as you claim Sunbreakers' powers are. Your entire BUILD is OP. You have a grenade that blinds the enemies it doesn't kill, while turning you invisible. You have a Super that seems to last longer than the Hammer of Sol, comes out of nowhere, and is- in my humble opinion- much worse than any other super attack. The very BEST you can get is to be killed by it. Half of the time, rather than just decently killing you outright, so you can get on with respawning, it glues you in place, drains your super, drains your grenade, kills your radar, turns your world purple, and makes you a sitting duck. It makes me miss Thorn poisoning.
Even Nightstalkers' movement mode is OP. Why the hell does this subclass get an evasion move, that NO other class gets (unless the player buys the "Safe!" emote)?
And you Hunters are filling the forum with complaints about Titans, because they finally got a subclass that has a ranged Super attack.
For the record- THIS IS NOT A NERF POST. Keep your sniper rifles. Keep your Shadowshot. Have fun with them. But for the love of crap, quit complaining that the weapons and the class you DON'T use should be nerfed, while you yourself go blithely on being ridiculously powerful! Look honestly at yourself. Look at how many Hunters are running NS right now. It's almost every one you see, and for the same reason almost every Titan is a SB (Sunbreaker, not sonofabitch)- it's the most powerful subclass there is right now. There's even an exploit for it, I hear.
QUIT begging for other classes to be nerfed. They're not the problem; or, if they are, you're equally part of it.

I agree with the sniper part as far as they're really stable you can't walk out of a corner an your sniper stag totally still
-
I cant take any part of your opinion seriously and here is why. Did you know you had 22,000 kills in crucible? Do you know how many kills you have with snipers in crucible? You have 15 kills with snipers with only 5 being headshots which is really embarrassing. Second you are right that you dont have to hold your breath but there is a lot of flinch with snipers. If you are shooting one and he headshots you then its luck of the flinch or he timed it perfectly once you missed a shot which i guess happens a lot with you since you cant even stay positive. Ok now for Nightstalker, the grenades for Pve are decent but for PVP they are a joke.If you die by their grenade in PvP then you were already weak or you are retarded. That's it. The other grenade thing is decent but not op. If you struggle seeing invis guardians then you suck, the toxic grenade is decent but i would rather have a throwing knife or a shield after melee but that's just me. The super is just average, if you dont count the glitch. Most people say that's op because it shutdowns other's people super, but doesnt every super does that? My gun does that to most supers. Also, you are basically shooting a tracking rocket launcher for the super and the tracking on it is extremely weak.

I really only play rift and skirmish, barely iron banner, and run a sidearm
-
Hammer of sol cant be aimed? Weird i aim it with the reticle box all the time

I agree with a lot of what's said here. On the subject of your merits: you don't have to be a acclaimed film writer to know if a movie sucks or not, but everyone would rather listen to an expert, whether or they're right or not. TL;DR: No one has to be a top-tier player to know if there's a problem in PvP.

3 RepliesI agree about snipers, there have been way too many times I've got headshots on a sniper and he doesn't flich and one shots me
-
1 ReplyIt appears I'm needed here
-
5 RepliesA titan running defender and sliding around getting an overshield with each kill seems a bit problematic
just me?
-
1 ReplyThat grenade is no blinding grenade. Does it obscure? Yes. Blind? No.
-
I agree.
-
1 ReplySorry, but just no to literally everything you said.
-
5 RepliesHaha, too true. Whatever match I go into It will consist of 50% Hunters who, btw, all now look the same with either the raid cloak or IB cloak. The majority will run NS. Becoming very bland, my Hunter comrades!
-
5 RepliesJust gonna chuck a bit of fuel into this fire
hunters are the reason trials got delayed
-
Interesting opinion

11 RepliesThere is no aim wobble because you're undead and for lack of a heartbeat and no muscle fatigue your hands wouldn't shake. :)
-
As a guy who uses a sniper. It's not as easy as you say. Quite often, I have to kind of stick and move. It's not like I can sit in one spot the entire match. I'm always getting flanked at that point I pull out my primary and fight my way to another spot with at least one barrier I can stay close to.

3 RepliesThe night stalkers super is not OP when compared to the other 2 TTK subclasses. All three are OP compared to the previous 6 subclasses though.
-
Agreed. They need to remove aim assist on snipers or at the very least; significantly reduce it. Sway would be good too.
-
3 RepliesI HATE shadowshot. The only reason I have Nightstalker on is for Shadestep. I miss 70% of my Shadowshots- I wish I could use golden gun and Shadestep. I agree it's unfair that no other class has an evasion though /:
-
1 ReplyI just love how this is pure fact and all these hunters refuse to face them. I played as a hunter from the beginning level to 40 to see what actually takes skill but there is none required. Their super is basically no worse if not better than all others. I mean you can literally stop others from using theirs. To me that's way too unfair.
-
1 ReplyI find Shadowshot super easy to dodge if you see it coming. I can avoid the death AND run out of range of the tether by running TOWARDS them, then pummeling them into submission (or whipping out my shotgun). The dodge IS annoying, but I don't see it often enough for it to be a problem. Sniping is VERY annoying, but the maps are mostly designed to be mostly CQC with a couple of sniping lanes. I either run thru the closed areas, or counter snipe down the lanes, depending on how much they've pissed me off. This is all my experience in standard Crucible. I didn't find IB rewarding enough to participate this time, so idk what's going on in there.

Mad cause bad.
-
Really? You are so off
-
The hos is capable of getting by far the most kills in the game and as can be seen through ib can TOTALLY swing a game. SS on the other hand will get you 2-3, and most likely will not change the game at all. I have played many games of crucible and have played people that are "very good" with a shotgun. Being good with a shotgun is more than worrying about aim assist or whatever it's situational awareness and movement around the map. With that said the 90% of people I killed when they have a shotgun are simply sprinting at me from 30 meters away in a straight line. No skill involved there at all.
-
I agree with the sniper thing. . It's easy af to get headshots.
-
As someone who mains a warlock and has used both a sniper and a shotgun this iron banner I think you are wrong. Sniping involves aiming I miss shots with a sniper and I hit shots with my sniper. Using my shotgun though I just run straight at people and there's not really any strategy. I'm not saying nerf shotguns I think they are fine where they are and are easy to counter if you play it right. Also hammer of sol is the best pvp super, don't even argue, and the only thing wrong with night stalker is the glitch which I did not see anyone using.
