Can someone explain the sudden desire for vanilla gear?
Call me "out of the loop" but it seems that everyone suddenly wants old vanilla gear for some reason, especially the LDR 5001. Can someone explain?

1 ReplyThere are a couple of weapons that had amazing rolls, if they still exist on the weapons...the swarm, ldr, shadow price...some dragon scout rifle. They're all really good.

Vanilla gear was awesome. I dont know why people want the ldr tho.

1 ReplyLDR isn't vanilla. The gear is wanted because the vanilla perks were still available. A number of them were removed when HoW launched.

A lot of the weapons are worth ascending to 365 atk. And some armor looks cool. Wish I had my old hunters dust walker gear

Well when it comes to weapons I honestly don't have many left pre-dlc. I will say that TDB had a lot of good stuff, but weapon wise I ended up using a lot of of HoW stuff. When it comes to armor I have some vanilla stuff that looks so sick. In fact the only reason it survived in my inventory (I hoard) is because it looks so cool I couldn't bear to delete it. Added to that it is rare and unique, and that makes it extra special to me

6 RepliesDidn't realize this became a trend, but I still use Nerigal Savant III helmet, Eclipse Maw chestpiece, and my The Devil You Know handcannon, all fully upgraded to the max with Etheric light. I don't use Exotic chestplates until I absolutely need that 2+ heavy ammo from my Voidfang Vestments, because Looks and Style > Perks. Seriously, the amount of people using helmets like The Ram and other armor just because it has goody bonus perks is saddening. Everyone just wants to have the perks and there's no care for style or uniqueness in most of today's Guardians.

3 RepliesI was level 2 vanguard almost rank 3 during dark below. Yet I decided to save the package for HoW, thinking there would be a better sniper than LDR but I was mistaken.

It's rare and therefore cooler, and the LDR still is my go-to PvE sniper, even though it's unascended.
