Making my decisions meaningless... Not cool!

Bungie should compensate materials/weapons.

648

Bungie should make old guns obsolete.

231

Bungie should improve the reforge system.

If you're going to nerf all my favorite weapons hard and make my decisions and grinding meaningless, then I demand a refund! I'm gonna need... 500 motes of light 1500 weapon parts 625 axiomatic beads For The People (vendor version) LDR 5001 (vendor version) BTRD-345 (legendary version; any perks) I dismantled my old LDR because I needed some vault space and my E. Spear was supposed to be the ultimate thanks to Final Round. BUT NOPE. Removing final round wasn't good enough, they had to nerf my favorite sniper into something not worth using. Field scout is also being nerfed so it'll be harder to roll a PvE version too. E. Spear sucks; it has crap stats. Final round makes it not suck. Naturally, I took the not-sucky sniper. That's the right choice. But after 2.0 it will suck once again, so I want my materials back as compensation, to forge a PvE version. I rolled that spear ~200 times (due to a mistake on my part, I should've kept the 70th roll. But it's even better now.). It's not fair if I forge the best PvP gun and it becomes the worst. I dismantled For The People because I figured you were never going to buff auto rifles. Plus I didn't expect perfect balance to disappear and all the new AR's to suck. BUT NOPE. I dismantled my BTRD-345 since I have 2 old Jolder's Hammers. I've still been rolling them, hoping for perfection. If you're going to nerf field scout, then all those resources are now wasted. I would rather have reforged the BTRD. I also want all my reforging materials back so I can start over. I have to, since I'm a PvP minded player and some of my perks "like final round" no longer have any reasonable impact on PvP. I will be very unhappy until you return my stuff. UPDATE: With 931 votes, 81.3% think Bungie should compensate materials or improve the reforge system so we can adapt to their balance changes. It seems only the haters commented. Weird. Thanks for the bumps anyways.

  • I kept My For The People. It's gonna be sweet with that super high ROF, absurd stability and 56 rounds once the buff takes effect. Sucks you got rid of yours

      • This annoys me. You dismantled those weapons of your own free will. Bungie shouldn't have to give back a bunch of materials. I get the vault space problem though. They should just let you carry more weapons on your character really. Still, final round snipers are stupid anyway, of you have to rely on it for a kill, you really just shouldn't snipe.

        • I think instead of the current reforge system it should be improved. In that 2 systems come to mind. 1. A full purchase system. You get a range of perks to use and you purchase them for a set cost. 2. A more specific reroll. Allow the full reroll, or individual rerolls for singular perks...at a greater cost.

              • I wouldn't mind getting weapon parts, as I've used most of them up reforging guns and the lot, but if you need Final Round to kill someone in PvP, then you probably shouldn't be sniping in the first place.

              • Count your losses and quit the game. Bungie made it clear that they don't care about the players with 2.0. Fortunately, you can see it. Just quit before you're disappointed again.

Cut your losses and leave the game now like many others are, after a few months they'll pull the rug out from beneath your feet again. Just because Destiny is an addictive game doesn't make it a good one. There's really no point building up a collection only to see it ravaged on a whim by a fool who's been staring at a spreadsheet and now thinks he knows you. The fool is you if you let them do it again.

                  • Meh, I don't really agree with any of the choices. Honestly, think about it this way - the perks you got are pre HoW, so you've had them since before the 1.2 patch, which was early May. The 2.0 patch doesn't release until just before TTK, so you've got until early Sept. That means you've gotten at least 4 solid months of usage out of those weapons. Not bad for the investment, IMO, and enough time that asking for some sort of refund/compensation isn't really a reasonable request (again, IMO). If you've been playing that long, and you regular PvE as well as PvP, chances are good you have a stack of materials anyway (or you will have, by the time the 2.0 patch is released). I do both, and I have several hundred parts on each character, and nearly 700 motes between the three (not to mention the ascendant and radiant materials you can exchange for motes now - I'll be in the thousands). The reforge system itself was just improved in HoW. You did your rerolling before the patch, so you may not have had the opportunity to revisit it, but reforging at the gunsmith is MUCH cheaper than it used to be with Lord Saladin. I spent last night reforging my HEr Benevolence for just the right perks, and about 20 rerolls later I got it - barely put a dent in my resources. I feel your pain, really I do, but in the end I think we got our "money's" worth.

                  • Re roll your spear for surplus and get 4 gally shots per pack because it's glitched. How are they nerfing field scout? It still holds 6. Not going to lie though my LDR >>> Spear now

This is what a always online game that release expansions to is like. Go to any other game that follows the same methods and you will find that you would have already lost all your gear.

                    • I've done a lot of rerolling on guns myself, but you pay to use them in the short term. I've gotten my fair use out of them. When the patches hit I'll move on to whatever guns are better at that time. So I voted that Bungie can make old guns obsolete. Before the last weapon rebalance, I'd never in a million years thought I would start running shotguns - I ran pulse rifle/sniper all the time. But I had kept an old Felwinter's in my bank, just in case. That's just thinking ahead. Rerolled it to a beast and completely changed the way I played. When the next balance hits, I might break out an AR and dust off my old Trolley Problem. Looking forward to something different.

                    • I got as far as "they removed final round ( I am assuming you mean 'ruined it' *lol*)" and "E Spear sucks. It has terrible stats". You opinion is clearly that of a 12 year old boy with no brains to understand this game. Please go away and stop playing.

Honestly until that happens I just reforge a weapon a couple of times until I have at least one decent perk

                      • I think it would be nice to add a perk locking system. So you roll a weapon and you get a perk you do want.you lock that perk so it doesn't reroll and as a trade off it now costs more to reroll. Cost increases with more locked perks.
