Thorn Counter weapons?
What weapon do you use to counter the thorn?
Let's end the thorn reign, tell us what/how you have successfully countered the thorn...
I strongly believe there is nothing this forum and its guardians can not overcome..
Let's prove it!
[spoiler]I use the Mida, and juke technique, you still have to pick you battles, but its very effective[/spoiler]
Edit: So far the red death is winning, but there are a lot of good suggestions, for anyone struggling with thorn users..
Are there any thorn users out there, willing to admit what weapons are causing you strife...(The spirit of battle still exists, Ty to all thorn users that replied)
Edit: The theme with most of the weapons so far is high rate of fire, high impact...or red death...
I really hope something on this post helps you come up with tactics to deffend yourself against the thorn, it is possible!

I think we all can agree that the "send it" needs to be removed...you just should not be able to snipe from across the map with it...
The thorn is somewhat challenging to get, I don't want to see it nerfed to oblivion...
But it is becoming a crutch for some guardians, and headache for others...
This post is quickly proving that it is possible to counter the Thorn (as is), as with anything you have to use your head...
Omg this is off point but I just got "The Birth of History" ship from IB, I've been grinding for this more than anyone has for the ghorn...
I feel like if you try to help others, you will always be rewarded in life!

Thorn was my first exotic and I will always love it. But despite everyone claiming it to be op, I feel that it is not as good as it used to be. You can't just fire off shots as quick as you can. You need to aim for the head with each round and the stability is atrocious. Despite it being my strongest weapon, I now use Vision of confluence a whole lot more. Thorn just does not seem so great anymore. Also yes, red death counters thorn all day long

I use the thorn cuz it's easy but when theirs too many. I switch to my bad juju. That thing wrecks anything. Personally my best pvp gun.

5 RepliesRed Death, due to the health regeneration. As long as you kill the Thorn user who's shooting you, you'll regen your health while the burn effect takes place leaving you vulnerable for a very short period of time before your shield comes back, but it will save you in a 1v1 Thorn encounter.

Red death. The TTK for red death is faster than 2 head shots plus DoT TTK for thorn. Many times my red death has saved my ass while my screen was all green.

Red death, if you get the kill after taking 2 shots from thorn it heals you a little and can save you.

1 ReplyI use MIDA a lot. The thorn only seems to annoy me when you kill a thorn user but then have to deal with a 2nd or 3rd right after killing one.

I haven't found any counter as I doubt it has any other than getting hit in the first place...which isn't a counter.

1 ReplyCounters to thorn (gun wise): Golden gun The last glitc- i mean word Hawkmoon (with luck) Shotguns at close range Snipers only on first light and bastion (otherwise they are within thorn range) Rockets Machine gu-wait nvm they can and do get beaten by handcannons Now if your aim is flawless some others can beat it but only red death will survive the postmortem bullshit
