Destiny is my first FPS as far as PvP goes. I went to look at my stats while on the Family Throne and I was curious as to why assists are not factored in to the K/D? Is this usual for other games that track K/D as a stat?
Candidly, I am not a stat hound, but I am trying to get my K/D above 1.0. It is with assists, which lead me to post.
Thanks in advance.

4 RepliesWell you know k/d means kill/death. It doesn't mean kill+assist/death (although that would be cool). Call of duty nor halo don't do this either.

It's k/d not k-a/d ratio

3 RepliesWould be interesting to see the ratio of: (Kill points + assist points) / points given from death

Kill to Death ratio.

1 ReplyProbably because k/d is kills per death or deaths per kill for those of us who struggle in pvp lol. Some types of games like MOBAs use k/d/a but for the most part shooter games stick to simple k/d ratios

1 ReplyEdited by Barbatos: 4/29/2015 1:06:27 AMKill/Death. You don't kill the other player. Think of assists as wounding other players. And yes, this is factored in other games.

3 RepliesEdited by B: 4/29/2015 1:07:36 AMBecause an assist isn't a kill. Just the way it is. Everyone would probably have ridiculously high K/D if it was factored in.
