You know how they all say Become Legend. Well with this you can.
This also solves the content gap between the expansions
Oh it does both of those things? How. Well let me tell you.
How it could work.
You have a separate Legend Rank. Call it what you like. Which goes up when you level up new weapons or armor once you hit level 32, it begins collecting. And then you can use those legend points to buy Elite Shaders or New Weapon Skins. Also you can buy Elite keys using those mastery/prestige points. Which you can use to run VOG on Elite mode, and get 361 damage version of the weapons.
This can work similar to Warframe Tower Void keys. Once you have a Key you can invite other people to a group.
This is a solution to the request for so many people who love their Fatebringer/Vision of Confluence and want to bring to the next expansion. This also solves the content gap between the expansions. This solves many issues with Destiny. I like this game and want it to have replay value passed the normal light level cap. Don't you?
Add Mastery Level or Prestige Level to Destiny
So that I have some reason to level up all the guns. I want feel like I am working towards something when I play. Otherwise the time feels like its being wasted. Take for example Warframe, or COD, they have some type of progression other than your level to show that you are elite.
Add elite ranks to Destiny as well to show truly elite players. Not grimore score, thats something that anyone can get just by collecting ghosts and watching youtube.
Please add this. Would be nice if Deej could bring this idea up to Destiny Dev team as it solves one of the biggest problems with Destiny. Once you have everything, there isn't anything to do after you are 32 and ran the raid multiple times. This gives elite players a reason to keep playing.
Edit: This system gives your characters a reason to keep playing after you hit 32 on every character and have most of the guns. Which is most people on my friend list. Sorry if it doesn't apply to you.
But most people on my friends list don't play this game, so I wanted to have a reason to continue to play it.

Edited by Guardian9447: 4/5/2015 1:12:31 AMThat'd be cool... but also with shaders for your character, as well. "A million points in crucible? Here's a sick shader that no one has!" OR... Maybe we could grow horns.. or a halo! Or have some kind of Aura around our toon!

3 RepliesEdited by A ToplessZombie: 4/4/2015 8:03:49 AMNo certain weapons need to be left behind. Imagine 10 years from now if exotics continue getting upgraded through the DLC, all of the amazing new heavy weapons people would miss out on because everyone has a Gjallarhorn by that point.
-
1 ReplyThey'll never do this, bungie can't even give us new bounties, shaders or emblems without telling us they have to sacrifice something on last gen. Their lazy. Plain and simple.
-
5 RepliesI think there should be a special shader for soloing crota.
-
19 RepliesI don't like the idea of using old content gear and weapons because what's the point of having something new if the old stuff lingers around and I'm sure there will be something better at some point anyways. If it's the look, then transmogrification will solve that which they need to add but the whole point of this game is to progress, complete the task, and start a new.

Edited by Unforgiven: 4/4/2015 8:03:57 AMThe way the game is now, if you play 100 hours or 500 hours. You can basically get the same shit. Its all RNG based. This system will allow players who play Crucible for example a lot to get some rewards that they don't normally get from playing and to show that they are hardcore. Why not give us something to do. If we are asking for it? If you don't like the idea fine. Then don't participate in it. But this will only apply to players who are max light level and have done everything there is to do in Destiny already multiple times.

4 RepliesThis is just like cod

1 ReplyI like this ideal. Idk why you are getting hate mail lol it's not like it would be mandatory for everyone to do. It would just give "elistist" something to do. But I think vog should only be upgraded to 325 dmg. Skins for weapons and elitist shaders sounds cool tho

30 RepliesI really just don't see the point in this at all? Once you're done with destiny take a break, do something else till the next expansion. Leveling exotics is so quick and ray you're doing it wrong if you struggle.
-
3 RepliesThere is a legend level, it is called the light level, and you get a more of light, each time that you rank it up. The light level is called the prestige level, similar to CoD. I cannot remember which website that it was that showed the prestige level, but I was around 150 with my Hunter, and around 50 with my Titan.

Please +1 if you like it thanks, i wish the COD kids wouldn't downvote this

I like it...ANOTHER!

1 Reply1. It said Prestige 2. It said Mastery 3. Now it says Legend can't escape the past >:)

1 ReplyI like the idea of gun shaders, as I've commented on several previous posts suggesting them Such as this one: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/107114410/0/0 Progression beyond a cap makes no sense, it's a *cap* for a reason. Now, that's not to say there couldn't be *other* things to progress, like if they added factions you could rank up in or something like that, or maybe have some vendor selling gun shaders at different tiers you can unlock, maybe through bounties specific to certain weapons/weapon types. As for leveling beyond the cap, well yeah, it's called the next expansion. Admittedly people are leveling faster than they expected, so the dlc feel a bit too far apart for what they have in them. Avoid using terms like elite and prestige, they scream CoDpiece [redacted][redacted] and nobody likes those. Good core ideas/concepts, but the presentation is geared towards the hardcore, which are frequently a minority, you may want to adjust how the ideas are presented so that they appeal in a more general sense, you need to convince the average guardian that this is a good idea.

4 RepliesIf you want to prestige then go play Call of Duty.

10 RepliesTHIS AINT COD BISH

Cool idea! Anything that gives us more customization is a MUST at this point :( "Become Legend"? More like: "Become a slave to light levels and perks"
-
5 RepliesNo thanks...

I do like the idea, but the grimoire grind is very very real.

16 RepliesNo this is not COD

11 RepliesGreat idea. Also, knowing a relatively small % of players (proven with bungies stats) that play PvP or do raids, level 32 is hard for the majority to achieve. Level 30 however is much more achievable. I like idea of prestige or elite factions that appear to support your play style to reach a level cap. Raid faction, do raids get rewards as you do now. Iron banner can continue, specific gear to reach level 32. Now we need a super striker and hard mission faction to reward high level gear. Or top level armour specific bounties.
