Hi Guardians.
Just an idea that would be far more useful than gesture/dance buttons.
I think using or at least having a choice to use the D-Pad go change between your *unequipped* (between exotics for example) weapons during a fight would be VERY handy.
So for example, D-Up would allow you to choose between your all your primary guns, D-Left would be special guns and D-Down would be heavy guns.
I think this would make fights smoother and make it so we don't have to run and hide to change weapons.

1 ReplyI'd like to hold say right d pad and maybe it brings up a transparent weapon wheel.
-
1 ReplyI like the idea. D-Right for ammo synth selection.
-
3 RepliesYou realize this makes things hugely unbalanced right?
-
1 ReplyI would like to see an item slot on the d pad as well! Its getting old going into your inventory to get ammo!
-
5 RepliesI didn't got all the way through this post so If this was already mentioned already then ignore this but wouldn't that be like the gears of war series? It's not a terrible idea but I like the funny little options we can do with the d pad and enjoy the option of hitting one button and knowing what it will do.

3 RepliesWait... Is the "y" button broken? My weapons switch just fine. D pad sucks for weapon swaps.

1 ReplyEdited by BunnyBones: 3/31/2015 9:16:46 PMYes they have needed a weapon wheel since launch. I am actually working on mapping a specific weapon to a hot key. I have R3 to crouch and slide. So button O is free. I am hoping more competent young gaming whizzes will figure this out. As we have to do everything and not hold our breath for Bungie. Basically in the menu to go to orbit or grab sparrow there should easily be a transparent weapon interface. Which if you hit the d-pad would not affect our dancing and pointing d-pad configuration. Etc. ..

1 ReplyInteresting idea. Ideally I would like to see them allow us to select what each direction does. That way every player could setup their own personal quick d-pad. I know most would love heavy ammo sys to be on one of the directions. Some times it takes way to long to load the equipment screen. So if they could allow us to customize what they are set for I think a lot of gamers would be happier. Cheers

Edited by HiddenHavoc9886: 3/31/2015 9:25:29 PMIt's like they kept this out just to mess with us. This is a very useful and common tool that is much needed in my opinion. It's not like you couldn't just have your ghost summon a weapon from his personal vault like everything else by giving him a signal.

4 RepliesSwitching weapons now feels good, quick tap to switch between primary/special and hold to pull out that devastating heavy
-
2 RepliesTo change weapons all you do is puch one button ore hold one button it doesn't get much easier than that. But if your meaning cycling through your primary weapons with the up arrow and through your heavy with the down arrow then that would be cool.
-
1 ReplyI WOULD agree with you, but if bungie can't even fix a game at launch let alone DLC, many of which is still broken to this day since game launch, i don't even think they can program something like that without deleting half our vaults and resetting our levels.

Hotkey gun switching.
Fixed it for you

The point is, you should not be running into corners to change your weapons every five minutes. My loadout relies on as little as five weapons, two of which are situational. If you are swapping your weapons every five minutes, then there are obvious flaws in your tactical loadout.

I like this idea. Here's another one that sort of falls in line with this. Murmur has the ability to cause Arc and Burn damage. I would like to be able to switch these on the fly in combat with the D-pad as well. It would be so much better than having to go into the menu where you become vulnerable if you are solo. I would like to see more exotic weapons that have the ability to switch damage like Murmur as well.

23 RepliesYou must be on last gen, it takes a full minute sometimes on ps3 to access the inventory during a mission. Ps4 has no need for such a feature as the menus are almost instant.
-
Bump ps4/xb1 maybe instant but this really needs to happen

10 RepliesThis idea is pretty cool, like maybe when you hold D-Pad (up, left, or down) a wheel would pop up, displaying your weapons, and you use the right joy stick to select the weapons (once again up ,left, or down) and the unused right arrow on the D-Pad could be used as a wheel to show what action to do, such as: wave, point, sit-down, dance. This would be an awesome to bring into destiny:)
-
1 ReplyI hope this actually happens. Like really badly.
-
I think this idea would be vest a choice for the player. I use the dance emote a lot so I'm biased. When i put up my bubble, I dance to taunt ppl n i kill em when they challenge me. It's an essential part of my strategy.

6 RepliesHow would this possibly make gunfights easier? You would have to take your thumb off the left stick to move it to the D pad. As it is now your right thumb is always jumping to the main buttons, what do you have against pressing triangle/Y?
-
1 ReplyBut then how would I dance? Or wave at people?
-
2 RepliesI don't know, It kinda adds a silliness to destiny that most FPSs don't have
-
1 ReplyLike how borderlands does it up is first down is second left is third right is fourth that would make the game really smooth plus we could "potentially" carry another heavy
-
5 RepliesBecause tapping or holding y or or whatever it is for playstation is so difficult hahaha
