How likely is it to get an exotic engram drop?
If you dont know what they are then I will tell you. Engram drops are items that drop from enemies when you kill them. There are five different types of engrams; Common, uncommon, rare, legendary and exotic. Also I don't know if they are real.

I have found 1 before, i was playing with my mate and i killed a brig and there was an yellow engram on the ground, i thought it was a prime engram. I picked it up and it gave me an exotic helmet (Apotheosis Veil) I wondered what the drop chance was and I found this thread, so yeah its possible.

I have gotten a random exotic engram drop before, and I too thought it was impossible. I only ever had it happen ONCE and it was during the contact public event when it was around, at the end of the match I was looking at the stuff that dropped off the enemies and I had to stare at it in awe for a moment because I thought my eyes were playing tricks, but it was a yellow engram on the ground and once I grabbed it I got an exotic. This was the first and only time it ever happened and I haven't seen something like that since even if I have been playing actively, so the drop rate must be as rare as some of the greatest drops in TF2's MvM gamemode. It CAN happen, unless of course Bungie cut that feature sometime since then and I and everyone else wasn't made aware of it.

It's possible, I've gotten some exotic engrams from enemies, some either on strikes or on heroic missions, though it's rare it's possible, but if you want a higher chance at them I recommend using a Three of Coins from Xur and then killing an enemy ultra

I've got Monte Carlo and Mida Multi Tool Primary weapons as mission rewards, as well as the Storm Callers Bond. The Ram and the Stag I've gotten from Xur

Improbable. All recorded sightings were gltiched Uncommons, even though they showed as Exotic when acquired.

The only way you get an exotic from an engram is from a legendary turning into one. There is no exotic engram drops. You can only buy exotic engrams from Xur. Anyone who says otherwise is A)lying, trolling, etc. Or B)Doesn't have proof and never will.

3 RepliesThere are no exotic engram drops! Only from xûr. Everyone who said they got one is lying. Everyone who said they know someone got lied to. Look it up on YouTube. There are no videos existing of an exotic engram drop. If there were drops, at least one of the millions of players would have recorded it by now.

11 Replieshey guys....what's up..... i am a day one player as well and I have had two drop for me from the same strike, different times and different playlist ...... one was a nightfall..... we killed vallas tauric on Mars and he dropped a yellow for each of us..... we were so stunned no one thought to record it..... it happen to be my young amakaras spine...... the second was just recently during a dragon strike on Mars..... we killed vallas tauric..... and I had killed myself jokingly at the end of the strike and I turned my camera view to the right and there it was a yellow engram on the floor..... the strike didn't award it to me as a yellow though it gave me a legendary engram at the end of the dragon..... so I went back to the tower immediately and decoded it and sure enough it gave me a red death..... exotics won't show up in the postmaster as an engram..... so they give you a legendary that has a set code to be exotic when decoded...... i have confirmed this with two other people that have done extensive research on this...... but if you still don't believe me........ my gt= axxchupathingy........... go to my clips it's in there I recorded that yellow engram just sitting there on the floor..... clear as day......yellow as the sun...... it's a short clip but solid proof exotics drop just super rare....... or glitched...... but if it's glitched it's still proven they drop.......
