Through out my time on Destiny Toland the Shattered has fascinated me and I believe he needs more of a story. I believe since no one knows what has happened to Toland there should be a DLC where we must hunt him down. There will be cut scenes and everything.
Mission 1: You arrive in the tower to see Eris going berserk (in cutscenes form) and she's yelling "It's Toland! He's calling to us!" The speaker calms her down and says "go to these coordinates and see if it's him"
You arrive on Venus and go to the coordinates. Fighting through vex until you get to his last known location. Then you arrive to see the Exo Stranger. A short conversation follows.
Guardian: It's you, what are you doing here?
Exo: I'm here for the same reason as you.
Guardian: So you heard Toland too?
Exo: Yes. We must find him.
Guardian: Why?
Exo: He knows things.
Guardian: What do you mean?
Exo: I'm not sure but it's an emergency broadcast that's been going on for months and we MUST figure out what he's found out and how he got out of the Hellmouth.
Guardian: The Speaker must hear this.
Mission ends.
This will introduce the companion mechanic. This will allow you to replace your ghost with an NPC that will help you but will not carry you through a mission. In this case the exo stranger.
The next 2 missions take place on Mars and the moon and are following 2 more sets coordinates to find Toland, nothing too important, but the story behind them won't be paper thin.
Strike:
Your companion will be disabled for this mission. You have found a definite transmission from Toland and must infiltrate a fallen compound to find him. You fight a group of 3 devil walkers and an Arkon priest and arrive at the end just in time to see the Warlock Toland be lifted off in a fallen ship.
Raid:
You are told by the speaker that not all is lost. A scout team has spotted the ship he was on go to the home of the leader of the most powerful fallen house of all. This will be called the house of gods. The first challenge is the dreg swarm. You must fight literally thousands of spawned dregs and last for 6 minutes while dinklebot (who is required for this raid) opens the door into the building. Immediately inside you grab Toland and you carry him the rest of the way out. But there's a twist. The whole way out is flooded with 2,000 dregs, 1,000 vandals, 500 sniper vandals, 59 captains, 3 Arkon priests and a devil walker. I forgot to mention that only 5 guardians will be fighting because 1 of you must carry Toland. All enemies are in moderation of course.
Eventually when you get back to your ship you sit Toland down and the Exo Stranger walks in as well (she's been protecting the ships). The conversation is as follows.
Guardian: Well here he is.
Exo: So what's your message Toland? What's so important?
Toland: It's him... I-I've found... I've found Kabr. He's still alive.
DLC ends and this is the tie-in to the next one. Which of course is a vex DLC because Kabr got lost in VoG. So it'll be a bit of a remix.
What do you guardians think? I personally love the idea. If a Bungie member is reading this feel free to toss what you think below too. I'd love to hear from one of you guys. Happy hunting guardians.
Edit: Thanks for all the feedback guys.
Edit 2: I know that most believe Kabr and Toland are dead but I have found nothing that says they're dead all I've really found is that they're missing. Toland hiding and Kabr consumed by the wonders of the vault.
Edit 3: Aaaaaaaaaannnnndddd we are officially trending! Keep it up guardians!
Edit 4: I am planning on making another DLC soon. If you like this one make sure you keep tabs on #Destiny to see more. I'll post a poll to see what you guys want me to do next.
Edit 5: Now we're cooking. Not only are you guardians complimenting the idea but you're starting to build upon it. Also, there are a lot of comments so I apologize if I don't reply.

Edited by ari: 1/30/2015 2:30:32 PMIt was hinted toland became corrupted by the "darkness" the hive manipulated, and is still alive somewhere. Source: me grinding hours and hours of the game's shitty story and missions. So yes, a dlc would be great. Kinda sick of reading amazing stories of characters yet they almost have nothing to do with the game.. (Disregarding exotic bounty)
-
Yeah you just ruined the dlc by creating the entire story now there's no point thanks you
-
Edited by BloodyAlien243: 1/30/2015 5:33:10 AMYou should make dlc ideas for other lore characters like OSIRIS, dregden yor, shin malphior(think that's how it's spelled), Pahanin, and Kabr
-
This is why we don't allow just anyone make raids -_- Good story though
-
Toland died and became the sword in the raid...the end lol
-
Good story development :) but based off of the information we know of Toland he never really comes into contact with the fallen often. His entire life revolves around being banished to the Moon due to his deep understanding of the Hive. Also, in my personal opinion Toland has no use for the Fallen and the Fallen have no use for him so they'd probably make him a trophy over the fire place haha! But good job! And if you want to bring Kabr into it, just remember if anyone ever hears of Kabr again, it is not Kabr they hear from.

Ok, just to point something out: Nothing in the grimoire (that I have at least) states to Toland being dead. Signs point to him possibly being dead, but no physical evidence of his death. Similar to the information we have about Praedyth and Kabr. Except we know they are dead, as Kabr is now the relic (or Atheon for those who believe that theory, I for one, don't, but that's a huge theory that I don't feel like posting) and Praedyth was killed, and not erased from time (or partially, as we know he existed, but he apparently {According to the Revenge} never died, is dying, and will die again) entirely. So really, Toland could still be in the Hellmouth. Also if you want that theory... Let me know. I'll post it or something.

Edited by BloodyAlien243: 1/30/2015 4:58:48 AMAnd in the deepest part of the vault you find Kabr and he says the Vex showed him a future not far from theirs. With Earth turned to a hive world and humanity has became extinct. The hive are now a massive force in the Sol System. And it's all thanks to the coming of Oryx as for told by OSIRIS. The only way to stop him is to find OSIRIS and kill Oryx.

You should work for bungie

1 ReplySo I'm sure Griff would never come up with such an amazing idea as this. Most of the time he is getting punched in the nuts by Tex or taking a nap. Awesome post, great idea, Bungie should see this.

1 ReplyEvery once in a while I see a post and think "they need to throw this guy a few hundred bucks, call him a creative consultant, and build on that idea." This is one of those times
-
No thanks

4 RepliesYou visit the stranger and she says "I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain about toland. Have you heard of the white plantation?" Ghost: "we've heard the legends." You; "I haven't heard..." Stranger: " go there to find toland, then you will be upgraded to "almost entirely interesting." <ninja vanish>
-
1 ReplyThat was sick. I got all tingly when he said "I've found Kabr".
-
You had me at Dinklebot opening a door!
-
2 RepliesI love the idea of introducing Toland, but always thought it would be from a position of power and mystery. He's aloof and dangerous, with an insatiable thirst for knowledge. I don't see him as being a captive unless its by his own design. Of course, he didn't beat Crota and apparently any group of noob guardians can, soooooo... maybe he's the Doc Brown of destiny.
-
1 ReplyYaaaaaas! Been wanting more information on him for awhile now!
-
4 RepliesHello!
-
3 RepliesYes this! Bungie look at this please

Edited by Dabroker: 1/30/2015 12:13:30 AMI'd like to imagine to find Kabr we would open the entrance to the vog, but instead of going to the templar area we take a different passage which would lead us to a portal to the vex underworld. That could also be why toland was wandering around there.

Holy Shit. THIS IS AWESOME!!!! PUT THIS IN NOW

Edited by jovan grant: 1/29/2015 11:18:37 PMGod damit everyone needs more of a story. only thing we get is grimore cards . kabr everyone ,Toland ,eris , even zavala and the vanguard guys if u read all the grimoire u will notice a lot of them know each other. In some way or another there paths have crossed and they are interwoven there is a story that was removed before the release and damit if there gona give us grimoire cards around this story I hope there not yanking our chains and at some point or another we get this dam story not some spin of or something else
-
Sounds fun.
-
1 ReplyIdiots like us will buy anything, and its much cheaper to have no story
-
Whoa, slow down there. Thats way to much story for bungie devs to make. Trying breaking down that 2/3s then its meets bungie standards
