I don't like how it try's to justify what we no know was a bullshit war on bad information. The film infers that the Iraq war was the correct response to 9/11 and that the most important thing about the war was protecting American soldiers while ignoring the lies that put those soldiers in danger in the first place. American freedom was never at risk. That war wrecked America's image and legitimacy around the world, it cost American taxpayers trillions of dollars, and turned us into a country that lies about torture, then endorses and commits it.
It never mentioned the occupation leading to mass destruction, hundreds of thousands of deaths, epidemic unemployment and political radicalization that still continues today(ISIS). All under false pretense.
It aims to make you think that killing Mustafa is what kept terrorists from invading our local towns or wherever.
The real life Chris Kyle was not the modest man you see if the film, either. He bragged in his book about the "savages" he killed. It's gross, ignorant and racist. He openly stated he had no regrets about any person he had ever killed.
It really is a typical war time propaganda film. Since propaganda was made legal again 3 years ago, you really have to question what you see in all media. News, entertainment, the whole lot.
It really shows off how desperate conservative Americans are find a silver lining from the Iraq war. It was not just, moral or even legal.
Instead of dealing with this tragedy, we're just supposed to celebrate a guy who believed all the lies, never cared about the truth, and convinced himself that all of the killing he did was simply the noble defense of the innocent instead of being a part of an illegal occupation that destroyed a country. We need to be real careful about who we glorify in America today.

It's called stop your crying
-
The movies not about politics asshole, it's about Chris Kyle, who was a brave and patriotic man who died trying to help people.
-
Couldn't have said it better myself.
-
How is this a bullshit war? You don't even know why this war started
-
It was a bullshit war due to the fact that it was illegal.
-
What exactly do you mean by "illegal war"
-
As in by the international definition of "war of aggression" -- which are illegal -- that conflict qualifies. The US attacked a sovereign country without provocation.
-
Iraq was building an anti American government and there were going to be a lot of attack on the U.S. So yeah, there was provocation
-
Lol that's a good one. Iraq's government was anti-American following the 1990s but plotting to attack the US? Lmfao
-
They probably were, based on what many historians have said
-
Edited by DB5: 1/25/2015 5:28:58 PMprobably? even if that were true, probably is no justification for invading a sovereign country. But here's the thing. Iraq had no capability to attack the US. If it tried, it knew it would get obliterated. That's why it had no plan to attack the US.
-
There was no official declaration of war.
-
According to the Supreme Court an authorization is the same as a declaration.
-
They found wmds
-
Well that's because you can't declare war on groups, you can only declare war on countries and the United States didn't want the middle eastern civilians to think that they wanted to go to war with their country especially because the Iraqi government was fighting against the terrorist groups.
He bragged in his book about the "savages" he killed. It's gross, ignorant and racist. He openly stated he had no regrets about any person he had ever killed.
So he shouldn't glorify about his accomplishments? Please do all of us a favor and never speak again. I don't think you have ever servered time in the military. Saying it's gross, ignorant and racist makes you the ignorant one here. What is raciest about it, cause the simple fact is that he was white and to most other nationalities, white people and subjected to being the raciest people cause of the ignorance of people like you. You are the one spreading the propaganda on here.

-
Not it isn't Do a favor and die You have no idea what it's like when those people are torturing your friends
-
Yea, which is ironically the same thing they say about us. We tortured their friends and killed innocent family members. So you think our torture is good but theirs is bad?
-
We aren't crazy religious nut jobs that kill innocent people
-
Idc who it is. Bragging about killing people is messed up.
-
So is killing a bunch of innocent people like the ones in the world trade centers. Take a look at Isis, they murder children for watching soccer on tv, they send kids out to do their dirty work, they behead people until they get what they want. But we are the despicable people. So pathetic
-
What? I abhor killing innocents and I despise those who brag about killing anyone. I really don't care what someone or his affiliated group has done, there's no need to boast about killing him. That's barbaric.
-
You have no idea about anything kiddo. If you saw and witnessed what those sick people did you would to. Those terrorists are barbaric
-
It's barbaric to brag about killing people. I really don't care what your opinion about that is
