Soloing all the aforementioned is possible with the exception of VoG. You just need the proper gear which can be bought at vanguard and weapons that will drop with time barring a few that just don't because they are not in your roll list at least that's how mine are example IB could never get regardless of hundreds of hours playing. Too many weeklies, nightfalls, strikes and raid completion. It just wasn't in my roll is all I can figure. If you want to play solo why would you be asking for match making?

So I can access the endgame content if I want, rather than feebly attempting it solo or waiting hours to get a team together.

There is not penalty for soloing. Matching making would be like the current systems lot of AFK'ers that just make it more difficult. Honestly if they add match making my play time will reduce. Just run with friends and that it. Friends is a broad term but mostly random people I have met playing that I have come to really enjoying gaming with.
