I had a friend who graduated with a 4.3 GPA and was salutatorian of the class, and he joined the military. Actually now that I think about it, five of the top ten kids in the class joined. Try again.

Clearly you're retarded if you don't know that with honors classes GPA goes on a 4.5, rather than a 4.0 scale. Maybe you should try getting into high school first. And to really blow your mind, AP classes are on a 5.0 scale.

There it is. Hurts some, but the truth is out. But to call the militarymen/women 'borderline bums' is a bit harsh, I think. They're hard working people still, to some degree theyd possibly work harder than most of us. Doesn't take much brain to get in, but it takes alot of brain, brawn and grit to stay in, and even more so to build a career in there. A programmer, and I know a few, contracts and jumps between jobs like it's close to embarrasing. They hug their bachelors- or masters degree like it's their only rememberance of actually accomplishing something. I got this friend who 'is in charge' of a very certain and minor function in an application, which goes into a system, which -fastforward- goes into a car - as an option. Man, Im glad I got of that route as I was close to it. I got more joy out of what I do (Im into marketing) but I still find military/policework interesting. Maybe it's the spirit of adventure and drive to help others in a more [i]real[/i] way that gets people in the army, and not their incompetence? Im quite fed up with the cockmeasuring, it goes around in my social circles as well. Im often finding myself having a far more interesting conversation with an arcwelder of stainless steel than a CEO of a servicecompany or a friggin 'management consultant' (the plague of modern times, god theyre everywhere) Thank god it's tuesday.
