The thing that pisses me off is the fact that both Sony and Microsoft had a month to prepare over this and still failed to do anything. Lizard squad told them beginning of December what their intentions were. We pay money for a stable network to enjoy, yet this is what they do with out money...nothing. To top it off, both Sony and Microsoft give us the bs about how they're updating but fail to mention about what lizard squad did to them like we're a bunch of retards. No sorry or anything from them.
Whether this is what lizard squad wanted, Idk but I'm not gonna be distracted by the fact that billion dollar corporations could have, should have been better prepared.
Chew on that some all

How do you sony and ms did nothing? Have they said "we knew and did nothing".

We all knew at least most of us I'd assume even reading this post now. These companies are well informed, especially given the previous situation a week prior over the alleged north Korean hack over the movie by Sony "the interview" You'd figure after something so incredible to happened they'd have been prepared like fort Knox

If you knew anything about amped DDoS attacks you wouldn't make such a statement.
-
Regardless I'm not a multi billion dollar company, that's a lot of money for a lot of resource to pull through things like that, wouldn't you agree

Edited by forkless: 1/3/2015 3:06:54 AMThe real problems is with some components (eg. certain type of outdated/misconfigured DNS servers and network owners that allow the creation of spoofed IP addresses) on the internet which are outside the control of Sony or Microsoft. No amount of equipment or money will thwart certain type of attacks that use these servers/methods. Which is a huge issue overall.

I don't claim I know a lot about these things, but what I'm certain is that regardless of this was something that was unavoidable, I feel that these companies could have at the very least apologized over what occurred formally to us consumers. I haven't seen anything posted yet...from their Twitter or any other social site they use to keep us informed

It's usually practice (certainly during the first few hours) to keep these attacks silent to the general public while they work with law enforcement to track down people without raising suspicion. But I fully agree, they should have done some post-attack communiqué

My thoughts exactly.

Thank you, this how politics is, distract the masses from what's really going on and what we should really be talking about

They probably didn't take the threat serious. Then come the 25: -blam!-.
