I keep seeing people who say that 3 of the same class is cheating and I can't wrap my head around their logic. How is that cheating? They have to get drops still and upgrade their armor like everyone else. Is it cheating for me to give my hunter items that dropped on my titan? I just don't understand their logic about why it's cheating.
Edit: most responses I've ever gotten. Glad to see most think like me and that it's fine. No adequate explanation for the cheating reason. No idea how people come up with that.

1 ReplyNot cheating, just cheap imo. Do what you like but I don't have respect for people who reach max level with three characters, matter of fact even two. You have 3 chances to get raid armor for one character each week as well as extra shards for duplicates. I would only respect them for reaching max level on ALL of their three characters.
-
1 ReplyIn the end those that max level 3 separate classes have the tougher challenge and therefore the greater accomplishment. Those that just have 3 of the same class had it easier and can't be as proud of maxing one class.
-
I don't think it's cheating. I do, imo, feel it is lazy noobish gaming though. Try getting 3 separate characters to 32 ( it's a lot more of a grind )
-
It isn't cheating its in the game lol People are just morons.

Work Smarter not harder. I have 3 Warlocks. I always play a Mage class. I have no interest in playing a Hunter or Titan. I have just as much right to 3 Weeklies, Raids, and Bounties. If it was against Bungie's wishes a Class Lock at Character Selection /Creation would have been easy to code in. Stop ✋ the whining about it. IMHO of course...

The butt hurt is strong in these comments.
-
Its not cheating but it does give you an advantage of getting the raid gear perks you want by getting more of the same class gear
-
The only way i could think of it is that when raid gear drops its character bound so cannot be equipped on any other character.
-
To me I see it as a shortcut. I don't care if you do it but don't say something about another class or brag about your level thirty two warlocks.
-
3 RepliesIt is not cheating it is just cheesing. There is a difference but sadly people can't tell the difference between cheesing and cheating. Have 3 of the same characters is cheesing. Lagging the game in order to get rewards is cheating.
-
whats funny i have 2 titans and 1 hunter and my friend has 3 titans. you would think that by having 3 of the same he would have gotten to 32 faster than me but i actually got it first lol. having 3 of the same does help but i think it all boils down to luck.

Edited by Undead Hater: 12/29/2014 12:40:45 PMI'm not cheating because I only have two

People just like to bitch. Use a shotgun bitch, use a hand cannon bitch, make 3 Titans bitch, run backwards bitch. Ignore those idiots who whine about three characters.
-
1 ReplyIt's not cheating, I think it's just boring. You have three identical characters (aside from appearance / race, but you're probably wearing the same gear) for the sole purpose of running locked content multiple times. Bungie could have just allowed 3 nightfalls etc. across all characters on an account and it'd make no difference. Nobody has to justify having 3 of the same character, just don't try to argue that it's the same as having 3 different characters because some people actually want to play 3 different characters.

It's called being a potentially greedy Lazy cow.

18 RepliesIt's not cheating - it's just taking a huge shortcut - therefore not respected, rightfully so IMO
-
You are entitled to your opinion but If people want to have three of the same class It's not cheating. If somebody enjoy a class so much they want to make multiple of the same class i call it playing smart. It's not effecting your gameplay anyway derectly or inderectly.
-
I wouldn't call it cheating, just boring. It seems to me that it would make this game even more repetitive. But if that's what you wanna do go ahead. Doesn't effect me.

It's internet nerds looking to lord something over another. Don't pay it any mind

It's not, just jealous people about

Edited by lonelyt: 12/29/2014 11:33:29 AMThey should limit the rewards by account instead of by character, but then let you get the rewards 3 times per week. If you want to do all 3 with one class that's up to you. But the way it is now there is a speed at which they want rewards to be attained and some people are circumventing that. I would not call it cheating though, but it's clearly bypassing their intent
-
It's not.
-
It definitely is not cheating. But some just think it's lame, and try to find some kind of justification for it. I like playing all three, but who cares? Play how you want to!
-
It's not cheating at all they still play as much if not more than others. And I've 1 of each class cos that's how I like to play.
-
I am fine with it, I do it myself. It's a good tactic to avoid rng and to waste less time on a game that is a complete grind fest already. I don't know why people are butt hurt about. They don't have to act like a saint just because they play the game in a way that makes it 3x harder for them to get the same reward as everyone else.
-
As far as I see it most people who post that bullcrap are just trolling or are really difficult to get along with and think everyone should play one way- Their way. I wouldn't pay it any mind. Will save a lot of headaches trying to wrap your mind around that 'logic'.
