Crota’s End is Destiny's Death Knell
Destiny’s VoG Raid, in and of itself, is a great game. It is fresh and legendary in its play and mechanics. If Destiny is supposed to create legends, well, Bungie just destroyed a beautiful game with Crota’s End. How? Bungie trivialized all the time and effort to acquire and upgrade armor to 30-light. All the fabulously-named legendary and exotic weapons have been devalued, weakened and made trivial simply by issuing content that allowed players to buy greater than 30-light armor. What a grand mistake. I’m almost ready to delete all my guardians and toss this game out the window.
Bungie has not adequately thought and weighed the consequences. Crota’s End would have worked fine as a normal level-26/hard level-30 raid expansion – it would have preserved the integrity of the game. All the weapons and armor leading up to VoG would have still been applicable. I would have still purchased Crota’s End. Now, Bungie’s machinations have made Destiny a game that is as mediocre as its storyline.

3 RepliesEasy fix....just gtfo. Its a level progression game. Dont like it dont play. You people complain about lacking content and what not but then argue that youd prefer to keep the same armor for the rest of the game....

2 RepliesI agree that the new raid should have had a lower requirement for the lowest tier-- dumbing down the initial difficulty and then scaling upwards. However, I'm okay with upping the light levels. There are two things that should have been addressed though (well, three including a lower level Crota's End)-- 1) Creating a new difficulty for CE and VOG: 26, 28, and 30 for both raids. 2) upgrading pre-DLC legendary weapons & gear. Gear: Maybe not to 33 light, but enough to be level 31. Weapons: more than 300 because new weapons make the hard-earned weapons obsolete.

Crotas end would've sucked if it was level 26/30 this isn't the VOG buddy. This is a gear based game not cod.

Keeping the level at 30 and introducing more variety of weapons and armor would have kept all the content relevant, given more to do at endgame and given people more ways to make their toons unique (which most seem to want). They could have introduced some new weapon classes as well, maybe a grenade launcher for a new heavy, etc.

51 RepliesI really wish people like you would think before they post. It's an expansion with new enemies. In everything out there once something is defeated a new more powerful adversary takes its place not a weaker one. I'll take a guess at your age and explain it to you in a way you can follow. When you watch power rangers do they still use the first big robot? No they "power" up and get the next big robot to help them fight the new bad guy. Stop complaining and think it through.

Especially when in the grand scheme of things, raising the light level cap without introducing any substantive new content is effectively meaningless. It's just another status quo.

I don't really play rpg games and yet I understand that when an expansion is added it is meant to make weapons that you previously had obsolete. The fact that they even let us upgrade our exotics through Xur should be greatly appreciated. Get used to it that's just how things will be from now on. I enjoy it, it makes me wanna keep playing for the new gear and weapons.
