If this isn't cheating, I don't know what is! Couldn't believe my eyes when two players teamed up in Rumble. From now on, I'm promptly quitting any queued Rumble matches with *anyone* on fireteams.
Spread the word!
EDIT: Sorry all for the misunderstanding. I meant people who are playing together against others. It's an unfair advantage when the game mode is supposed to be "free for all". I realize they don't need to be in the same fireteam, but noticed a couple of times people in a fireteam playing against everyone else. This thread is very badly named. My apologies.

Does seem strange, when there is a a perfectly good Skirmish to play
-
LOL, got this situation 2 days ago. 3 guys were playing together as a team. They were just camping Alfa team's spawn point (Firebase Delphi).
-
I go into a fire team in rumble (just did this morning) to complete bounties or if we feel like playing it. We don't cheat in it, but we do want to play together... even if we are killing each other (but we hardly play rumble anyways since we are always in a fire team and usually only bounties bring us here).
-
I thought you meant if you have a fire team at all in rumble, you're cheating. Me and my friend go into rumble just to test our weapons against each other rather then enemies.
-
Yeah, it sucks. Thorn bounty boosters are sadly pretty common, but they're usually terrible at the game and forced to use stuff like Atheon's Epilogue. If you can control the side of the map they're boosting on, you should be able to win as they all try and rush you one by one to regain control. They don't tend to have a backup spot.
-
I do this sometimes with my two brothers for the rumble bounty. We play together for everything else in the game, so leaving the fireteam to only finish one bounty doesn't make sense. We however do not hold back and see who will do better amongst the three. If you meant against others, that doesn't make sense, since if they wanted to pair up in a team of three against others, that is exactly what skirmish in the crucible is for.

1 ReplyWhy couldn't I fight against my friends if I want to?
-
3 RepliesI've played Rumble a couple of times, it's more fun when you are on a fireteam of 6 if you want competitive against your friends :) either when I play with 2 or 3 people we kill each other, doesn't matter if one curses at you, it's still fun
-
Not every fire team in Rumble teams up. I play it every so often with a friend when the Rumble bounty is up, but we go all out against each other. We don't pull punches on each other at all.
-
Why not? I went in with 2 friends, we never spared each other.
-
Because its fun to challenge your friends to have some competitive fun.
-
Because it's fun to see whose a better rumble player amongst your friend group... Don't really see the problem. If you worried about boosting. I've only ever come across one group doing that
-
Playing against friends is awesome. But I hate when they team up.

Find yourself a team... problem solved. Matchmaking systems like seeing an easy way to grab an auto trio of players to grab without scrounging for individuals that take longer. Or you could just play better. :P
