Exotic Weapon drop rate
So after a tuff day yesterday running the weekly nightfall and VoG on both my 29+ characters, I feel that I needed to post something about the gameplay.
I'm sure I'm not the first to post this but from the release of destiny I have been playing this game,. I run VoG and weekly nightfall on both my characters each week as well as bounties and crucible, and during all this time I have not had a single exotic weapon or exotic engram drop. If it weren't for Xur I wouldn't have any exotic weapons at all.
Now I know that this is RNG which basically means I have terrible luck, but this ends up making me very discouraged as I don't know how to change my luck. Anyways this post is just to offer a suggestion on how you run the RNG for exotics (and raid loot). Couldn't you keep a counter for a person and for each time an exotic roll is run that fails it will increase the chance of on exotic for the next time (e.g rand(100) <= 5 is exotic, next time it would be rand(100) <= 10, then rand(100) <= 15). This way, even with bad luck you will at least receive a single exotic once in a while according to how much time you play.

Well this week I got my first exotic weapon drop, was actually kind of surprised especially since it wasn't that I didn't die. I don't know, I still like the idea of having the rolls gradually move towards and exoctic the more you play that way it really does give those who play more frequently a greater chance for reward.

2 RepliesThe problem you are probably having is that you die during the mission. Try not to die at all. That also includes warlock self revive. Every time I do my weekly and nightfall this way I get exotics or legendary drops.

3 RepliesI've only gotten a single exotic weapon drop from the nightfall. Gjallarhorn. And I got it last week. Before that it has always been legendary drops or ascendant materials. My brother has received 4 Plan C's. Just from engrams and strike playlist. He has gotten every exotic bounty at least 3 times(he's now discarding them when he gets them). It's just the luck of the draw my friend.

Tell me about it. One exotic weapon and I bought it from Xur. Just finally got raid gauntlets from hard raid along with Praedyth's. Been doing raid every week. And I know someone who just hit 50 hours and already has SUROS, Ice Breaker, and all raid gear.
