Since day one, I've never understood why these three modifiers are handled the way they are. The modifiers are supposed to be in place to ADD a harder difficulty level, but all they do is make it easier.
As of now, i know that the burns affect enemy weapons AND guardian weapons. The Burn modifiers should make the enemies weapons higher damage but not the guardians. My fireteam has completed all of the nightfall and weekly strikes and it's very apparent that the arc, solar, and Void Burn only make it easier to complete. We beat them all legit without cheesing and noticed very easily that the weekly is always harder than the nightfall because of the nightfall usually having one of the burns.
Please change the burn modifiers to affect enemy weapons only.

Edited by xxDAMRONxx: 12/28/2014 10:03:13 PMThe nightfall and weekly heroics are easy in general. Not sure what the issue is here. The game itself is not "difficult." If you take away the modifiers we may as well do 2 weekly strikes. Its fun to have the weapons you worked for make a noticeable difference. If you need to play a difficult game go play ninja gaiden or lost planet on extreme. If you want to have a good time with weapon looting and have fun using the weapons play destiny

26 RepliesHow about no. The damage modifiers go both ways. And each time a modifier is added, many of the enemies you face spam that damage type in ridiculous amounts. Plus, not every NF has the damage modifier. Va'lus Tauurc a couple of weeks ago had no damage modifier. Instead of saying, take this one thing out of NF, which will both annoy everyone who likes it as is, and increase the chance that Bungie will screw up the whole game when they patch it, how about you either ask for a new game type in the expansions that incorporates these things. Or you can make it more difficult for yourself by adding your own modifiers while you play. Release a rabid dog in your house and try to complete NF without being bitten. This could be called the "Rabid" modifier. Stand on a post in the middle of your room with one leg while playing, and on the floor have a bunch of needles with with Hep C sticking up. This could be called " Balance" modifier. Got to think outside the box.

The reason burn modifiers appear to make it easier for you is because you're a seasoned player with elemental primaries. You know which enemies to take more seriously and which ones to just plow through. He's get easier as you become more familiar with them and their mechanics. If you have an addition modifier to add to the mix though, I'm sure bungie would be open to listening. Also, ore modifiers would decrease the odds of a burn popping up.

Just don't use a elemental weapon if you want it to be harder for you
-
Yes they have already addressed this by ADDING OVERSHIELDS: While say for instance arc burn is in effect, you will see a higher number of enemies with void/solar shields. Nightfall is meant to be beaten- but only more easily by those who have put in the time to acquire primaries with damage mods. Another reason you may have concluded that nightfalls are easy is based on cheesing the mini bosses. I would bet that unless you have an excellent team who knows exactly what they are doing- that most wouldnt stand a chance head to head. Overall, the Nightfall is not easy and damage modifiers only add an interesting twist to it. Nightfall may be easy for some, but thats because weve only beaten the hard raid 50+ times to get what we need.

1 ReplyYou do know that the it's the only modifiers that act as a double edge sword right? If it's too easy for you, challenge yourself by not using that particular weapon aligning with the week's elemental burn card. Simple, yes?

Maaaaan get outta here with this bullllllllshiiiiiiit lmbo. I looked at your profile. The last nightfall you did was on the 15th and it took you 3 different tries. 1 attempt you had 36 deaths. Yeah it looks like you and your team are rock solid lol

How about a Light Switch burn? Amplified Melee dmg for errybody. Go into the nightfall with no ammo. Go -blam!- shit up like it's a fight club!
-
Please post a video of you completing nightfall, I'd like to see how it's done

2 RepliesYou must've been that kid who reminded the teacher that homework was due.

Edited by KIngJS922: 11/21/2014 2:38:39 AMNo, keep them the exact same. With no flinching or anything you need some sort of break, its already cheap enough enemies only need to hit you a good 2 or 3 times, or melee you one time, and on top of that some of the strikes spawn way too many enemies like archon and phogoth. Alsp, if they removed the modifiers if enemies have more than 3 types of shields the only way youre gonna beat it is with raid weapons and hoping you have a good enough weapon of each element, no keep the burns.

fallen have arc damage vex have void and solar and hive have void and arc so it makes them do more damage too

8 RepliesOh by the way nice level bro...you arnt even lvl 30...why don't you raid some and really experience every patch that creates new bugs to puss off under 30 players. People like you are the reason nobody wants PvP 28's and 29's for raid hard mode....dare I say hunters too...yea especially winey lvl 28 hunters. Check....mate. *sips hot chocolate*

Seriously dude? Give it a rest...everything keeps getting changed to make things harder. Take your self-righteous butt elsewhere. Talking about the rewards earned in nightfall it makes it pointless. Most of the time I get less strange coins than the weekly heroics. The only part of the same old boring strikes is made tolerable by being able to set up gear I don't normally play with for the damage bonus and I fall in love with a new gun that I may have never used before. This game isn't a career it's made for fun. Actually you should be an intern for bungie...between your stupid ideas and bungies new f-everything up method of gaming you could make all the patches that drive this game into the abyss that push dead games to collect dust in the bargin bin. By the way even some of the skulls in halo were foucused on making a balance of gameplay to make the game different for added replay value. Ala (grunt birthday party) Add new modifiers to make certain guns to do bonus damage would bring lots of new life to unused weapons.

14 RepliesJust cause its easy for you doesnt mean its easy for the majority. If you want a challenge try soloing it since it seems the patch makes it harder on solo players. Rather than make it harder on players who play by themselves or dont want to spend hours being suppressed behind a rock(only for a Dreg to flank and kill them...oh the embarassment) how about asking for a level 30 nightfall. Everyone isnt really good(or patient enough) to do it your way. By the way, you also just admitted that people who get strange coins for Xur do indeed earn them since the weekly is harder lol

6 RepliesEdited by ArchangelLBC: 11/20/2014 1:30:08 AMOh come on. It's fun to head shot a captain for 15k. Besides, without it the bosses aren't really harder. They just take longer. You're either in a spot you can survive or you aren't.

7 RepliesEdited by BWSflash80: 11/19/2014 11:27:25 PMI agree with other posts about just not using those weapons if you want a challenge. The shields some enemies have are already ridiculous. Nightfall Wizards already spam you to death with their shots aside from being shielded. I think the penalty of getting sent back to orbit is enough. That's aside from all the other modifiers. Hell, you can't even melee most enemies without getting one-shotted. Nightfall is supposed to be challenging, but not impossible. There will always be skilled players who stand out and are hard to challenge. Look at the two guys who beat the raid. Please stop asking for things that will just make the average player miserable when you can easily equip yourself in a way to make it challenging. There's no need for another update that will give us a whole fruit-salad and buffet table worth of error codes. There are so many other things to fix right now.
-
1 ReplyWtf? You do it with a fireteam of course it's easier.
-
If you want it to be more challenging then limit yourself and your fireteam to weapons that the burn does not affect. Problem solved.
-
Good for you, go play a different game then. Your opinion is not shared by the majority so move on.

1 ReplyLet's see some kinetic burn ;)

1 ReplyIt adds difficulty in terms of my level 30 is squishy like Super Mario because the applied modifier always seems to be the one element that 90% of the enemies use in that strike. So one hit you shrink, two hits you're dead. With the exception that is also lightswith is active a single melee will shrink and kill you. I consider weekly heroics as well as nightfall far more diffucult than the raid most of the time. Especially since the main mechanic utilized in strikes is horde mode surpreme.

1 ReplyEdited by BWSflash80: 11/20/2014 8:06:35 AMActually Bungie, please change the modifiers to affect RealHoosier to give him a stronger challenge. He must have issues from days past and likes to be beaten and punished with little reward afterward.
-
3 RepliesPlease don't listen to this cry baby. I for one enjoy the feeling of finally being powerful while also have to watch out for the extra enemy arc dmg. I don't want to spend hours upon hours playing this game just to have a chance at one possible drop that may just roll into strange coins anyway..
-
Listen dude... Just because you and two of your friends are good at strikes doesn't mean everyone else is. There are a ton of people who struggle and have to cheese to get through the weekly and nightfall. I'm personally not one, but I have friended and helped many that are. If you want to be brought back down to earth, go run some Iron Banner and deal with some floating wizards shot gunning you through the top of your skull or the dude who never seems to miss your face with his fusion rifle running at top speed. Maybe your too good for the bullet sponges.
