Meh, it's the nature of the beast. Loot hunters like this always have points where previous loot is worthless, and comes with the territory.
In Borderlands 2, I amassed every single legendary before the first level cap increase. They increased the level cap, and all that work meant nothing in an instant. I knew well that it would happen eventually.
I see it as a good thing, though. Getting to the cap is always the goal. Periodically increasing the cap is an easy way to add time to the game.
All in all, I don't think that my time spent to get to 30 was a waste. I'll be at an advantage for the next raid and should make it easier for me to get gear.

Pretty sure they are buffing existing exotics to light lvl 32 so that they are at least usable and don't become obsolete. And they might be adding in higher lvl light raid armor for vog if they add a higher difficulty lvl.

Agreed. If I was level 30 at this point I might stop playing the PVE side at least. Granted, games like COD are only focused on PVP (haven't played advanced warfare) and this is where Destiny has the advantage because it has both sides. The very fact that all of your gear means nothing at level 30 once the update comes out is exactly why we will continue to play. There has to be a goal of course. That's why we play lol
