Rewards for Nightfall are out of whack
I have completed two Nightfalls today. Based on my experience this week and last, I really feel like the rewards for Nightfall are out of whack.
To show for my efforts, I have received this week:
* A legendary heavy engram that decrypted into two ascendant shards
* 6 strange coins.
My rewards for last week weren’t much better.
First, if you’re going to give me a legendary engram from the Nightfall, it better decrypt into an item. Or, if its not, it should decrypt into more materials. If it decrypts into an item, I can at least decide to keep it, or shard it for a chance at *three* materials. My feeling is that if such an engram is going to decode into materials, it should give at least 5 AND be according to the engram type: if it’s a weapon engram, it should give energy. If it’s an armor engram, it should give shards.
Moreover, seriously: six strange coins? I can do the weekly heroic at level 26 and get the same reward. I can do it at 28 and get a *better* reward (9 coins and a chance at a legendary/exotic).
I really feel like Nightfall should *consistently* give better rewards than the weekly heroic. I don’t mind the coins, but if you’re going to give them to me, put a floor of 9 on the RNG.

3 RepliesI think it's fine. You've just been unlucky. Out of the 4 night falls I've done in the last two weeks I've received 3 exotics. Maybe RNGesus just likes me.

Edited by Silent: 11/12/2014 12:41:07 AMThis week on my Hunter I got a legendary Heavy Machine gun. On my Warlock, I got Hard Light. Though my friend got 8 strange coins which is a bit crappy since you get more than that for the Weekly.

People refuse to acknowledge the chances of ENGRAM items. Stop complaining about them already, sometimes you win on them, sometimes you lose.

I know this feel. The last 3 Nightfalls, I've gotten a grand total of: -31 Ascendant Energy -11 Strange Coins -2 Legendary Engrams (promptly dismantled for a further 4 Energy) These rewards are across ALL 3 of my characters. 9 runs of the Nightfall. Yeah.

Don't you know Bungie has a nightfall loot switch? After people started playing nightfall more they turned the rewards WAY down. I would expect them to get worse, and for me to stop playing nightfall.

1 ReplyDo nightfall 3 times a week, ive gotten an exotic every single week ive done it. Sure theres times i get 5 sc but more often than not someone in my fireteam gets something good, and that's fun for me too. If youre not happy with nightfall, don't waste your time. I enjoy it, and like the gamble, especially when the odds are much more in your favor.

I like it random.the weekly you know you will get 9 coins but nightfall could be awesome or stuff all :o) but they should remove coins from the list as thats pissing people off since they compare it too the weekly. Iv had 2 exotics in the same week and other times not much. My fireteam get to the end excited to see what shows up n then laugh or cry n take the piss out of the guy that gets crap :o)

maby make it so that you at least receive a legendary item or engram and if your lucky exotic and make the shards energys and coins a secondary reward. meaining that you for example get a legendary helmet engram but also 8 shards.

2 RepliesLast night my party received The last word Universal remote 10 strange coins (me) I got 9 strange coins n 3 blue engrams from the weekly heroic today. I don't mind though, I like the risk and have had great rewards in the past.

While I haven't had that happening to myself yet, I saw it happening. I don't really understand how the Nightfall can give less rewards than the Weekly. OK, there's the buff, too, but still.
