So for those who haven't encountered this epic fight... every now and again a enormous amount of two different kinds of enemies spawn in a patrol area. So many that you can't finish them all before the event is over. I'm looking to compile some information on why this random event happens. Some people say spending 30 minutes in an area that two different factions of enemies fight each other will trigger this. I have tried a couple things such as clearing all enemies in a single area at one time with a strike group. Perhaps we should have finished all the patrols in the area first? Either way this needs to be common knowledge, please post any info you have on these phenomena.

Dude I was on EDZ last night @ 9p.m. CST and the Cabal moved on the Fallen. I managed to take out enough to bring out some Cabal boss, but it ended before i could. Was an amazing amount of fun. Didnt get anything for it, but still was fun. Was a pleasant surprise

So obviously a lot has been said on this topic about the timing and such but I do know from the exotic bounty quest for Bad Juju that the "enemy is moving against each other" on earth actually spawns a boss. Now this is normal for some of the epic fights but the reason that this is unique is because you have to defeat this boss (He's a super strong hive knight with a regenerating shield) to get Bad Juju's exotic bounty. Considering the fact that in this fight the hive always come out as the winners over the fallen it's difficult to kill him because he will take NO damage from the fallen. I got me and four of my lvl 30 (pre Taken King) friends and we just killed stuff until that event happened, and we died so many times but we finally got the boss kill. And that is probably the hardest step in the exotic bounty for bad juju. I would love more mechanics like this though.

Also, if it doesn't give you anything and you literally can't beat it, then why is it a thing? I try and do the one on the dreadnaught and I kill the centurion major once and I get nothing and another one spawns (I kill that one too. Nothing out of that one earlier). I manage to kill the colossus, two different elemental knights with yellow bars and a yellow bar ogre (and not to mention countless ads). Nothing drops and I just get my ass handed to me by another wave of enemies. I don't really see a point in getting involved in that kind of public event if you don't even get a mote of light for it like you do if u do an actual public event. I don't think it should be referred to as a "public event" so much as it should be referred to as "public carnage".

2 RepliesI've seen these in rocketyard, skywatch, and ishtar commmons. Now, I'm a pretty decent pve player, and I rarely survive these events. But they're nice practice for the nightfall. Sort of.
-
Happens in Ishtar Commons, Venus all the time. Fallen vs Vex.

2 Repliesit happenede to me twice today, and once I was in a public event defending the warsat at the skywatch it was hive versus fallen and a message appeared in the left lower screen, "fall behind Urzak the hateful" (I'm not sure about his name neither the translation because my game is in portuguese), and we didn't manage to kill him did anyone kill Urzak ?

9 RepliesEdited by Igmus: 11/24/2014 5:31:52 AMEdit: I was wrong.
-
Its a scheduled event and now with the expansion pack released you have to kill urzak for the urn quest that eris sends you on. And it is quite a quest.
-
These are one of not the best events in the game. Patrol should have one on each planet constantly battling.
-
Edited by xblbw: 11/24/2014 5:52:36 AMIt happens in place of the scheduled public event. From time-to-time, I use Destinypublicevents.com to farm public events. When I'm at Skywatch, sometime instead of the warsat you get the "the enemies are moving against each other". It's always when the warsat was due, and instead of the warsat. Edit: my bad. Didn't realize this was an old post that had been necro-bumped.
-
It always catches me of guard but I do know it can happen in areas were no public event can happen.

Couple of questions. 1. Is there one of these on the moon? 2. Is there just 1 per planet? I only know of the one by original loot cave in earth, the one by the Nexus mission on Venus, and the one down the hill from where you spawn in on Patrol Mars. It would be cool if we could compile info on these. I think it would be incredible if Bungie expanded on these. They are already pretty difficult, but a boss or a few thrown in the end that has a chance of dropping good loot (exotics anyone?) if people can take it down. Would give people a reason to gather their friends together when this event pops and try to kill 'em all. It's cool to try to fight off the hoards but there's currently no incentive, and it would sure as hell make patrol more exciting if these could pop anywhere anytime, or something like that...
-
It's a timed public event.
-
They take place for public events in some areas. That's the only trigger...time.
-
Yeah, these events are bad ass. Last time I stayed infront of the spawn point as long as I could and got a lot of engrams, a few blue and 1 purple.

Edited by Brokenspade: 11/24/2014 5:28:44 AMThis is on the public event timer. Instead of warsat or eliminate target etc. Sometime the war happens. When the first loot cave was a thing it used to be my favorite thing in the game. My friends and I would be calling out kill numbers trying to get the most. We used to call it the fu(kening.
-
That event takes place of the random event that happens ie: defend war sat in sky watch, take out the leader event in the rocket yards and it also happens on Venus where the vex and fallen fight where you start for the nexus strike
-
This happened to me at the Barrens on Mars between the Vex and Cabal while I was farming loot chests. One of the coolest and funnest moments in Destiny ever. I NEED MOAR
-
3 RepliesThese are great. ive never been able to survive one without at least 1 death. I wish there were some reward for surviving though.
-
I like to find a safe spot and watch the carnage. I know on Venus there is a nice little area heading toward the Archive where a huge Vex versus Fallen battle happens. I mean ultras, majors, full blown. I just watch it from above
-
It happened to me once on Venus and it's awesome.
-
If I'm in hurry to do something.. I get the hell away.. But if I'm down for a fight I buckle down and throw down..
-
I wish the whole game had this amount of carnage. It would be epic.

holy crap, my friend and i just encountered while waiting for a public event to happen. it felt like we were in a hard strike, and holy crap that was crazy
