People Opposed To Raid Matchmaking Are Elitist Scumbags
Lots of people want this feature even if it's not the ideal way to play the raid. We paid for the game, so it's our choice. Regardless, if people think it's a bad a idea, they don't have to use it -- no one is forcing you. The bottom line is that the addition of raid matchmaking would have [b]NO[/b] effect whatsoever on people opposed to it.
I am lost as to why so many people are opposed to the idea. How would me, and 5 people like me, using matchmaking for the raid effect you? Answer: it wouldn't.
Besides, how many people are going to buy DLC with a raid if they want matchmaking it doesn't have? Remember who's really in charge of this game... Activision...

I dig how so many people are telling me that matchmaking would nerf, dumb down, or ruin the raid. Yeah, because all the other threads full of people begging for final checkpoints on hard or asking warlocks to cheat for them are keeping the raid legit. Yup, matchmaking sure would ruin the raid...

If they add matchmaking, people will just try and join hard raids over and over in hopes of getting lucky and joining a group that is already on atheon. It's really not hard to find a group anyways.

its like abortion...does it affect you? If you don't like it then don't do it and let others who want to, be able to. Most likely a matchmade team will fail miserably but who cares!? does it affect those who oppose it, nope because you can still play with your buddies in a party.

1 ReplyThe reason I dont like it is it gears people who have no business being in hard mode. They either dont understand mechanics or they are just not good at the game. Which is fine this game is for all skill levels, but do not force it on people who want to succeed and have the appropriate skill level. Also just because people use the internet and forums as a resource to complete these challenges doesnt make them elitist. Youre just lazy to find one yourself.

Agreed, they should at least have the option for random matchmaking. 5 RepliesAt times it can only take 1 player to mess your strategy up in raid. Now imagine if these players left mid match?? U want ppl u can rely on at the very least. It sounds like a good idea, but i doubt random players would stay long after many continues. Can u imagine an obnoxious player who doesn't listen to the group at the goegons maze area? instant death >_>

I can see you never had to carry randoms on your back. it's bad enough in crucible it's even worse in the raid and in a game that demands team work ,and we all know very well from many fps games that there's no teamwork in randoms and would just be a pain so please just stop

I myself am not opposed to it, I'm just opposed to at this moment. I'd rather Bungie focus on stuff that actually makes the game better, not raid matchmaking for something people will rage quit anyways because they can't handle it. Instead of complaining about it, you could have made posts looking for groups on multiple forums. They're everywhere.

Every time I have done the vault of glass and completed it I have been with 5 random people I have never played with we had no problems and i have done it with the same 5 people and in those groups maybe 2 of them actually played together. I'm all for matching to I don't feel like everything is really easy in the raid as long know what's going on and how the repetitive oracles work. so I'm all for matching because if I've already beat it countless times with randoms it's easier to do matchmaking then wait a couple hours for a random team anyways. on a side note with these random teams. It never took more than two hours to complete the raid and there people who still dropped out and we jus replaced them with another random. so if that's what some people are worried about in matchmaking if person leaves replace them with another random that's pretty easy. Also if we do get matchmaking you still build your on team and go into it there not going to get rid of party's .

6 RepliesFrom what I've seen, people who've yet to complete the raid are the ones complaining that matchmaking should be introduced to it. Most people who are opposed to matchmaking are those who have completed the raid and know what it takes to conquer it. To answer OPs question as to how this affects people opposed, it doesn't directly. What it would do is serve to give the vast majority of those who would use it a poor game experience. Just think about what would happen if matchmaking were actually introduced. - No guarantee of mics/communcation. The VoG requires teamwork and the raid team communicating with each other. - AFC. The raid practically requires all six people. Yes, it's been completed with less but can you honestly say that this would be the norm? That an average group of randoms, the type that would take advantage of matchmaking, would be the type of group capable of finishing the raid short people? - Griefers. People would join matchmaking purely for the purpose of sabotaging the raid. Strikes you can plow through despite interference, the raid not so much. - People leaving mid raid. The raid/game-in-general is notoriously glitchy. Even if it's not a rage quit, if it's just a server kick, randoms would have no way to rejoin their group. As it stands now if I get kicked I can rejoin by joining from my friends list. This would not be possible with matchmaking and the raid would be stalled until the matchmaking system fills the empty slot. This leads to... - Missing loot drops. A lot of the fun of the raid is getting the raid specific loot like raid gear. Matchmaking could put people into raid groups that are a significant way through the raid past key loot drop checkpoints. Sure, they could just finish the raid and try again to get a slot with a group going from the beginning, but that's not an ideal set up. There's just too much stacked against matchmaking to make it a viable option. I honestly don't understand why people complain so much about not having enough people to play with to do the raid. If your friend list is that barren then you have options. Join a clan, which there are plenty of with open recruitment policies that have high leveled people running the raid, or try a website like www.destinylfg.com. If you're the type of person who refuses to use either of those two options then you're just setting yourself up for failure. You have options, use them.

I got a tight knit group of friends and maybe need to add more and just join clan but I'm also kind of ocd and name of clan and type of players mean something to me. I want this experience to be special. It will be my first time and to have a whole bunch of people I don't know watching me while I do this will make me feel uncomfortable but I guess with s little drinky drink and some foreplay I can see how it could turn out great for all of us. So if you're interested join me don't be shy I'm shy to........wait, what site is this....

World of Warcraft went to shit when they put in raid matchmaking and I hope destiny never does. If they do for some reason, it should give worse loot just to let people get use to the mechanics (give tier 1 rewards comparable to vanguard gear, not tier 1.5 like existing vault armor). Matchmaking belittles the raiding experience by making it feel just like any other strike in the game, and would also lead to more annoyances when people queue up without mics. Besides, with the fact that nearly every step of the raid is exploitable for some reason (and everyone insists on running the exploits now), organizing the group is pretty much the only challenge left.

8 RepliesSure they shud do matchmaking. But only if the gear you get from it was a weaker variant. They could make it it's on difficulty mode called "casual" which will make up for all the people who won't use mics in it. In addition they should make hard mode gear stronger then normal gear to make it worth while. Problem solved Now everyone can be a winner and have a trophy for the least amount of work possible. Hell while Bungie's at it they should make a care bear server for people to solo the whole damn game

2 RepliesYeah, I want to be in a raid wear guys just want to farm chests and bail. Or somehow boot you at the end to bring in a friend. No thanks to match making. It would be horrible. That guy that thinks he can hide and get pulled through, someone trying to complete bounties with the aid of 5 other people. It would be a huge mess with match making.

Tossing out threats about not buying DLC if it has no MM is silly. If they don't add it in by the time the DLC comes out use the forums or DestinyLFG.com until it's added in. But don't come on these forums crying wolf about something not being in but you still have a way around it.

While I agree that it would be nice to have in the game for conveniences sake, there is a large population on the forums constantly looking for a raid team so it's not too hard to find a few extras on #Gaming if needed. My group which consists of 4 people found it very easy to find two people to run through the raid with, we even found a replacement member at the gatelord section in moments when one of the form raiders dropped from a bug.

I think the argument some people are making that matchmaking for harder content wouldn't work because it wouldn't be a good group is flawed. If you enter a fail group, it would probably serve to try and connect with people who would create a better group. If you happen to find 5 cool people with brains and mics, then why is this a bad thing? Most succesful groups would still be made without matchmaking.
