Why doesn't a shotgun blast to the face kill Hunters with Arc Blade on?
I don't see anythin in the Bladedancer talent tree that says it reduces incoming damage. Void Rifle full shot, Shotgun full shot, Shoulder charge...all just drop about 25% of their health when they have Arc Blade enabled. Why is this? Is it a bug?

This game does some goofy stuff sometimes. The game suffers horrible lag and/or hit detection issues, maybe what you're experiencing is related to one of those.

A shotgun blast point blank in yge face Will take down a blade dancer. I have done it. I have seen it done. I have had it done to me. The most probable explanation to why it failed for you is either your aim was not so on target as you thought or more likely lag. Lag causes some carazy shizz in pvp games trust me. Even with dedicated serves a player with a terrible high ping time will be able to be miliseconds ahead of you as far as the game is concerned even if you don't see it that way on your screen. So while you see yourself shooting him point blank in the face. The game actually registers that you grazed him. Blame lag friendly netcode.

3 RepliesWhy can't I kill a Titan that's about to fist of havoc with a shotgun blast? Why can't I kill a novabomber? Hell even with bladedancer you cannot kill either one of them mid super. And like all the other cqb 1hitkill things in this game, if I'm close you're dead. If I'm out in the open swinging like a madman I'm dead. Side note you haven't truly played the crucible until you spawn, get killed by fist of havoc, spawn, fist, spawn, fist, spawn, fist. It seriously happened, never play a game against a whole titan team. Like I need to take a break from this game for a little while between random everything and everyone spawning with 1hitkill weapons it's driving me up the wall. This game needs a barebones or standard weapons playlist so badly.

Because hunters with arc blade on have increased health and a shotgun still has a certain amount of damage it can do. Its just that a headshot with a shotgun doesn't do enough damage to down the increased health hunter

It does kill me, as does 1 fusion rifle shot, people nonchalantly walking backwards and shooting an auto rifle, a stiff breeze and kittens

2 RepliesYou do realise us hunters have minimal shield all the time. You get enough easy 1 hit kills throughout 95% of the game. Stop crying. Plus NO overage old like warlocks and titans. All seems balanced to me.

Arcblade gives us an armor buff of something around 25%. Just enough so that, if you're smart about it, you can survive the hail of bullets being thrown your way by half the enemy team.

1 ReplyWhy are people assuming this is a complaint thread? The OP didn't complain at all, it is just a question. If anything the only complaint would be about an ability being in the game that isn't listed anywhere in the talent tree.

Because the game is primarily pve. If it didn't have a damage reduction then it'd be pretty useless to activate in pve as one or two melee hits would get you killed. It's called Super for a reason. Also this seems like a bit of a complaint that it's unfair the arcblade is "op" Yet you're there using a shotgun going around 1 hitting everyone without them being able to react to it. Can you shotgun blast a titan to the face while it supers you, or a sunsinger tossing grenades around etc, not really so I don't see the why you should be able to do it to an Arc Blade either.

Arc blade can only be one shot by Titan or Warlock super. Anything else wont 1 hit them from max hp. ARC blade gives you a high amount of hp and more resilience to shots.

I should upload my video of me hitting a Voidwalker twice with Arc Blade and it not dying. All supers get a damage reduction bonus. It's innate, that's why it doesn't say anything. Gun Slingers probably get the least reduction, but they have super long range supers.

Just follow up the shotgun with a melee, if timed & aimed right, the BD (or both of you) will die. I know this for a fact, as I have done it, and have had it done to me.

you also cant kill a sunsinger or a titan with it, they get more damage reduction than bladedancers too
