People going AFK in Vanguard Tiger Strike
This is really pissing me off! I've had people who have followed me all the way through without killing a single enemy! Just sitting in an area waiting for me to clear it out before moving so they don't get kicked! Play the God damn game or go farm on patrol somewhere!

I honestly feel that if the players haven't caught up by the time you pass the first respawn checkpoint they should be kicked. I'm running into a lot of players who are clearly using software or hardware to randomly input commands at timed intervals, like jump or move left. if you were kicked for not being able to get to the first "let dinklage open the door while you kill things" part strikes would be so much more bearable.

Just do what I love to do on 'don't die in a strike bounty' day. Follow the following steps to enjoy screwing everyone's time except yours! 1)As soon as you spawn, run through all the mobs. 2)If no one runs through with you, declare that they are not worthy of clearing the bounty. 3)Enter the darkness zone. 4)Kill yourself. But seriously, do this only if you see them hang back from the paltry mobs at the start of the strike. Once they respawn, they will quit 90% of the time, allowing you to solo the strike yourself.

On "don't die in a strike" bounty day my warlock was still level 24 and I was forced to carry a 29 and 30 through the tiger strike because they would sit in the entry to each section and wait. Seriously? Level 30 and you hide in the door way? I was the same level as the enemies and I survived just fine.

Yeah a level 30 and his 29 friend did that in a VT Summoning Pits. I just stood there and knifed them till they left. I refuse to carry capable people in team based coop. Ugh, this playerbase...

My wife made me go and drink whiskey outside in the sun with her, I tried to come back to my controller but she gave me that look, you know the look. And I didn't even keep the legendary shotgun I got when I returned, I dismantled it immediately as I felt I didn't deserve it Edit: Just realised this is a very old thread, so you probably weren't referring to me. Yeah, that's kind of people are so annoying.......

2 RepliesJust... dont clear anything for em. If you dont see them actively playing, mess with em. Stand right next to them. or just quit and find another. Nobody puts Baby in a corner and no one sponges off my play.

Yeah I had one guy like that earlier today, he was hiding and AFK in the refinery in the earth strike, I kept pushing him till he was in the open, he got killed, then he left and I got some hate messages, it was very satisfying

Report them for being inactive and unhelpful in the menu screen and move on. They probably have a challenge to complete a strike without dying, so it's justifiable to a degree. But arguably they should be providing some kind of support. If it comes down to it and you're the only one fighting, leave. It's not a big deal. -
1 ReplyI for one really support this tactic. Its a legitimate play style. I had to watch football all day yesterday and spammed strikes while moving my controller every once in awhile. By the end of the SNF game I had 23 blue engram's and 3 legendaries.

1 ReplyThere is an issue with communication in this game. I know Bungie is takin measures to address this. The reason I bring up communication is that when you run with randoms (like in Tiger) there is no in game chat. I have a 3 month old son who sometimes likes turn into the Tasmanian Devil with poop, tears, and milk....this results in me putting down the controller for upwards of 2 to 3 minutes. The doesn't let you run these strikes solo and there is now [u]quick[/u] way for me to tell my team that I'll be AFK and that my son just blew up a diaper or is hungry. I understand your frustration when you don't know what's going on and I apologize if you were one of the ones that that happened to in my game. Communication will differentiate between who's being negligible and who have reason to step away from the controller for a moment.

We had several people do it to us over the weekend. It gets old very quick! We need to be able to boot them from a strike if they are going to be dead weight during and rewards should reflect for two manning the strike. I used to chock it up to connection issues but after paying closer attention they are just freeloading on other peoples skills. at least they aren't killing you with their sparrow or warlock meleeing you constantly ;)

Just simply report them for (cheating & connectivity I think, it can be that as well), to me that is what it is. Last night had a guy come in and when we got to the boss, the entire enemy froze in place me and a friend could od NO damage and he was running around the boss firring, then the game ends and the boss is dead.

3 RepliesI read this suggestion by someone on these forums and I think you should try it. Next time someone AFKs, just walk over to where they're standing and either enemies will spawn around both of u giving him no choice but to do something or ull both just sit there until he/she realizes that no one is going to finish the strike.
