Centipede University Connection Issue
After installing the game twice and thoroughly testing my connection I have deduced that if you are getting the centipede error code like I am that Bungie has not adjusted for University hubs or server connection. No one on my floor can play and are getting the same error code. My brother is not at University and is getting the Cattle error. I'm not sure what is going on but I hope these issues are resolved as soon as possible because I'm already weary of this purchase. I love Bungie but mass server issues and error codes on the first night sends a bad message. Furthermore there is no support to assist. I will see what happens tomorrow but my guess is that these issues will not be fully resolved any time soon. It also seems odd that one specific code is designed for University hub/server errors. Who else are having these issues? What is happening elsewhere?

11 RepliesBecause of your complaints they hotfixed it and made server disconnects worse for everyone else. Thanks a lot. Now instead of flawless connections I get dropped all the time. You should be studying hard in college anyway not playing Destiny.

Since today it started working for me and my friends here in belguim finally after 8 days centipede I finally played 13 hours whidout a single disconnect THANK YOU BUNGIE

I'm at SUNY at Buffalo and I played several hours yesterday without the usually disconnect and bee, centipede, elk, etc error codes. Hopefully it will keep on working.

BUNGIE, we are tired of your excuses. You invested 500+ million dollars into a game we invested because we believed in your service to the customer and delivering a great game... Why can't we play? Where's your customer service? This issue is on your end. You got your money and way more back, please use it to fix your game and allow the thousands of us who can't play, finally able to enjoy your game. Just don't sweep this issue under the rug, because you will piss off the wrong people and you will lose it all :(

Got the centipede, baboon and caterpillar errors after getting disconnected from trying the Vault of Glass. How are we supposed to complete the raids of we're getting bored all the time because of server problems? This issue is more wide spread then universities.

Hey, Guilford College can play, but at least with players on both on the Guilford network, fireteams don't work. Gonna try fireteaming with someone random. Crucible is not working either. Dunno why. Don't really care. I can solo most of this stuff anyways. The patch we got (pretty sure) was from the manufacturer and Guilford IT talking, and I don't think Bungie played a part in it. Bungie was never mentioned in any of the communications I received from the school on the topic, at least... Good luck to you all, if there is anyone out there with a fair amount of technical knowledge on this, send me a PM and I can hook you up with our IT and see if they can pass any relevant info on to you about what they did, which hardware brand released the patch, etc. They were really avoiding telling me any details, and I got relatively technical with them, but I can point you towards them if you think you can act as an intermediary or work in the IT department of a university. We need a -blam!-ing centipede/university emblem AT LEAST. I mean I want an exclusive set of exotic/epic/legendary items that are only made available to people who got the Centipede error a few times. But the emblem thingy would be satisfactory. I'd wear that mofo like a badge of honor.

I just got to get past the title screen, didn't do anything but try one last time before I was going to go home for the weekend. Looks like the issue is fixed so far and going to stick around a little longer to finally play some Destiny!!

I live in an apartment building and I'm really sick of the Centipede error. I thought it was getting fixed in this update. I'm not even staying in a dorm so I shouldn't be getting this issue!
