For people who think Hunters are useless for PvE...

For all the foolish people who think Hunters are selfish and useless for PvE because they don't have any "support supers"... Let me shed some light on the subject for you... Yes, it's true that Hunters have no super that can actually boost or protect their allies, but the powers they are granted with are actually more important than most of you think. Lets look at the Golden Gun for example. In a situation such as the Devils Lair there were many Fallen Captains and Hive Wizards. While the Warlock and Titan should have been saving their supers for groups of enemy's, the Hunters were perfect for taking those big enemy's down in a matter of seconds. If the Warlock or Titans tried their super on Captains or Wizards it was practically a waste, only taking down their shields, if that. Already making Hunters top damage dealers. On a side note, the exotic armor Achlyophage Symbiote for the Hunter grants him a fourth Golden Gun shot, as if three was not enough already. Not convinced? Well, lets take a look at the second subclass, Blade Dancer. From what we have see (Not all Confirmed), Blade Dancer will be for clearing waves of enemy's AND taking out the big ones. In the first play through of Devils Lair (Old Footage I Know) the Hunter took out a Hive Wizard in only TWO uses, leaving plenty of Arc Blade to wipe any extra garbage around him. Also in other footage we have seen, on the moon when the hive charged a Hunter full of Arc energy, he wiped out waves of thralls, and yet it still had plenty of power left to keep wiping out the hive. While yes the Warlock and the Titan do have AoE ability's, they are no where near the power of the Hunters. Don't get me wrong, they are both powerful and each have their specialty's, but the Hunter reins supreme in AoE damage. To recap, the Hunters will be used for wiping out waves of enemy's and taking down the big ones. So yeah, they are not "Support Supers" but they are called Hunters for a reason, they take down their enemy's much more quickly and fluently than the other two classes. Which will be KEY for raids and strikes. Keep in mind everything I have said is based off of what we have seen from videos and what I experienced in the beta, none of it is in "stone". Also note I am not biased against any class because I know each plays a very important roll. Just made this so some people realize the Hunter truly plays an important roll in Destiny.

  • Sunsinger can wipe out more adds with grenades than any of hunters sub classes... Ur aoe argument is invalid. And as an ark blade u won't last long hitting shit in the face specially if light switch is on...

  • Well that to me it's the point of the Hunter classes to take down high priority targets. Warlocks void walkers and Titans are great for taking out big groups of enemies and you see the point. As I said this a personal opinion.

  • Warlock and titan supers do more than take down shields and the post super effects can kill the enemies completley

  • Gunslinger skill tree - Combustion: Killing enemies with the golden gun causes them to explode That may clear out large mobs. If you get an orb of light per kill and you killed 3 clusters of 4 hive thralls each, that'll probably fill up everyone's super meters :) BUT, Titans and Warlocks will probably clear one large pack a lot quicker! It's all relative. I think the most important thing for the PvE raids/stirkes is teamwork i.e. intelligent organised tactical approach. People could just be worried that hunters are too individualistic to care and compromise the team ethos, hence why there appears to be some discrimination. To have the most flexible approach, a team would need every subclass as each have their own attributes. There only appears to be 6 subclasses so far and there are 6 players required for raids. While I doubt it'd be necessary to have one of each type, it'd probably be quicker to solve the puzzles as all options are available to try.       • Thank you, that's why I love my hunter character. I understand how to use the power properly. However, I did find the golden difficult to use in PvP seeing as you had to charge it which took a couple seconds and then you had to get aim and fire it. While the other too classes just do their supers spontaneously once you press the two buttons.

        I don't like hunters because they are an invisible sniper. And seeing how half(or more) of the people playing destiny have raging clues for hunters, PvP is gonna be filled with invisible, camping snipers. That's not fun at all. Almost forgot about "bladedancer". Remember how annoying it was in cod when someone would run around the map with the sprint perks, knifing people? That's what it's gonna be like.         • Golden gun may not kill yellow bar enemies in one shot. However, with one well placed grenade followed by golden gun you can take out multiple yellow bar enemies. I was constantly doing this while generating 6-8 globes of light for my buddies warlock. I could fully charge his super in one fell stroke. Hunter is a damn good support person for filling your parties supers.

        • they don't have support supers because they are the ones you support. My buddy is a diehard hunter and I guarantee I will be reviving his dumb ass as a sunsinger multiple times. But, he's a maniac that slaughters enemies, so it's balanced out

          The Hunter class is about precision and mobility. Get in, deal your damage accurately, slip out, then out maneuver your enemy for the next strike. Just depends on your play style. Support can come in many ways, whether it be in defensive or healing boosts, or sniping that guy 20 yards over your shoulder about to kill you... I would also like to add that the best support that everyone can contribute is intel. Information is paramount to deployment of tactics and will always give you an edge you're looking for

          • Guys the hunter isn't shit. Golden gun gun just isn't that great. I saw someone need two shots just to take down a hive knight. But that doesn't mean we start insulting each others choices because they're different.

                • Hunter is amazing for PvE, and I know it will be even more amazing with Bladedancer. Also the double jump is much more convenient in PvE.
