[Bug] Special weapon ammo disapears when switching special weapons
If you have special ammo or heavy ammo, equip that weapon, then switch to a different weapon of that same type (heavy or special), all of your ammo for that type will disappear.

No it's not a bug it's a penalty for switching your special weapon in-game so think of your load out before playing
