I don't rent games; I buy them. I don't get why anyone would want to rent games anyway. Just buy them.

To test them out lol.
-
Just sell them if you don't like them. If you're uncertain, see a review from a person whose opinion you respect and whom likes the same sort of content in games as you, and if you don't like the game, sell it. If you're really, really unsure, then just wait a long time until it goes down in price and get it second hand. Simple.
-
Can't return downloaded games. I don't trust any reviews, I much prefer forming my own opinion. And waiting for a long time sounds awful.
-
Then don't download games if you're uncertain, or see a review. As long as you're interested and the reviews don't say it's awful and broken, you should get it.
-
Yes, you do. You can't have a true opinion until you have tried it.
-
Exactly. Buy the game, then take it back if you don't like it, or sell it.
-
Can't return downloaded games.
Well then if you're uncertain of the game, buy a physical copy of it unless it's super cheap as a download in which case the money might be a small enough amount to justify the semi-risk.
-
Not all games have physical copies.

Edited by JAMES Z666: 6/23/2014 7:29:36 PMAll expensive AAA titles do, or did. Nowadays the only games that don't have physical copies are games that are cheap enough to risk the money on it if you're unsure about it...
-
Expensive AAA titles do not make up the bulk of games.
owadays the only games that don't have physical copies are games that are cheap
That is completely wrong, what a stupid statement. And just because a game is cheap, doesn't make it worth the risk. Your entire argument is based on assumptions.
-
I am not saying that all games that are cheap are worth taking the risk; I'm just saying that some are. And, if you are interested enough in it, for the price that they are asking, then it's worth the risk. New AAA games have physical copies and only old AAA games, as well as non-AAA games like some arcade games, retro games and Indie games, are cheap. The only exceptions is on PC. But again, it's PC. Digital downloads are cheap. Just wait. It's usually worth the wait anyway, cos of price reductions. My point is, if the game's price matches the risk, or betters it, and the game isn't too expensive, then YOLO, right??
-
That's what demos are for.
-
Not all games have demos lol.
-
I have never seen a game without a demo.
-
You haven't been gaming very long then.
-
Edited by Gingers Unite: 6/22/2014 11:19:43 PMI think being a 9 year veteran of actual gaming is long enough to be qualified as experienced. I'm sure that there are plenty of games that don't have demos but the vast majority of them are probably games that few have heard of or are older games. Edit: I've come to my senses and realized that there are many games that don't have demos. Forgive my absolute silliness
-
9 year

veteran
Pick one. Unless you've been through three or four generations of consoles, you shouldn't consider yourself "veteran".
-
"I haven't seen one, so none exist." Lol

I didn't say that there are no games without demos. Let me clarify what I meant. I meant that I haven't seen any games without a demo or trial. I'm sure that there are a lot of games without demos. And come to think I know for a fact that there are several games I own that don't have trials... I guess it pays to think. My apologies
