k. if this doesn't get any love then i'll wait until the alpha chatter calms a little then give it a little bump
You remember this guy, right? Of course you do. We saw him very recently. Now, I don't know who he is, but it's clear that whoever he's with doesn't appreciate the Last City very much. Well neither does Dead Orbit. Read that text in the upper right hand corner.
It looks to me like Dead Orbit is a cult of mostly Awoken who despise the Last City and its Guardians for some unknown reason. These characters must be members of the Dead Orbit faction. Now the name makes sense, since they are clearly located in The Reef.
Some things are still unknown.
Why are these characters working with the Fallen? I think the Fallen is having a huge civil war, with red team versus blue team. Blue team clearly agrees with Dead Orbit for some reason. Perhaps they're sharing a grudge against the City.
Why does Dead Orbit have against the City? Well, Dead Orbit appears to be made up of mostly Awoken. Maybe some type of prejudice is going on here?
If these strange characters do in fact have a connection to Dead Orbit, then why don't they wear any Dead Orbit apparel? *shrug*

Bump for quality thread.

Im really very curious about what grudge they hold against the city. Nice observation!

I have a feeling the fallen will be the elites of destiny, there will be bad elites and elites that will be on your side, they should make a fallen captain to be similar to the arbiter and you and this captain work together idk just my inner halo fanboy speaking

3 RepliesEdited by MandalorianDom: 6/19/2014 3:27:18 PMI'm still going to hold on to my theory. We pretty much pissed off The Fallen some way and they want revenge, hence why they say they think what's on Earth is rightfully theirs. That is interesting though

48 RepliesFrom what we've seen of the Fallen, each house wears different colors. The ones allied with the House of the Devil wear mainly red with some other colors. Further in Old Russia, you'll find some Fallen sporting blue and yellow who fight alongside the Devil Fallen. The blue and yellow is not the Fallen allied with the Reef Queen as the Vandrals under her wear blue and white. The blue and white are similar to the main skin tone of Awoken indicating the house serves under the Reef Queen. Given how the Fallen continue use a housing system, it is clear that each Fallen House is similar to a Guardian's Faction to some degree. Given the name 'Fallen' they would most likely ally themselves for their gain and given that Awoken do possess access to the The Last City and the Light of the Traveler, wouldn't it be smarter to join them to further themselves, then pick the bones of humanity's past that holds little of the Traveler's knowledge? It is also clear Awoken were humans before the collapse and those that tried to escape the Darkness by going into deep space were turned into Awoken. To some degree, they would blame the Traveler for their origins and what had happened to their society, thus why the Reef Queen is cold towards Earth born Awoken who go to the Reef to find their origins. It also relates to how the Awoken remarks that the Guardian owes them indicating that they are a separate party and with how Dead Orbit may play on different factors, they are very symbolic of the darkest tone of the five factions and with the cold Reef Queen, it wouldn't be surprising if she holds a great hatred towards Guardians for following the Traveler blindly despite how Guardians are collected and formed. You can also look to how each enemy type are trying to kill one another while attacking the Guardians. Old Russia shows that the Hive have stepped onto Fallen territory and thus why the fallen tried to secure the location of the Hive and to keep them at bay which leads to their constant battles where you come into the crossfire. The Cabal and Vex are at each others throats and it is most likely the same with the Vex and Fallen on Venus as the Fallen are there. The only enemies we haven't seen duke it out are Fallen and Cabal, but depending on the House, they most likely fight as Fallen like to claim everything as their own, while the Cabal are a military style race which heavily implies they like to conquer everything they cross. The Vex are still unknown in regards to their goals and the Hive are an extension of the arkness, so you can guess they want to kill everything they cross that isn't Hive or the Darkness.

5 RepliesBut I thought the Queen of the reef was the head of new monarchy?

wat class u gun be

Here's a theory, since the traveller made ghosts who selected guardians from the dead, maybe dead orbit are those that are alive and have not had the favour of the traveller given to then. Hence the grudge. In that trailer also, despite the gun the corny punch line would insist he isn't an enemy
-
Does that mean that caboose is in dead orbit?
-
The fallen are not having a civil war. They are spilt up into houses. Think game of thrones houses
-
15 RepliesAwoken are bitches that ran away from the fight. I think some of the fallen are not so bad. There are after all different houses.
-
1 ReplyDead Orbit is not best orbit :/ Awoken kind of left humanity out to dry.
-
14 RepliesThe question I have is that will my Awoken Titan be on good terms with them or not... probably not.
-
2 RepliesThey despise the last city because they feel that the city takes freedom from the people who live in it. They are convinced that, in order to have a prosperous future, the city must be left behind. That's all I know about dead orbit up untill now.

wow. Great catch. Im impressed. Very astute. I never would have noticed that had u not pointed it out to me. Great Job dude.

It is possible. The Fallen do have inner house rivalries and they are not all allies though they are the same species. The same might be for the awoken and they are not all a part of Dead Orbit, and/or not all the awoken want to see humanity rise back to its former glory and have an alliance with a certain house of Fallen.
