You guys must REJOICE when you see that you caused a woman to commit suicide.
I know this is just a joke thread, but suicide is not a joking matter.

Nothing is ever off limits to humor. By trying to make something off limits, you give it more power than it would have had otherwise over you.
-
Well, when you're personally affected by suicide, then I believe it is not a joking matter. Just my opinion, I don't like seeing it.
-
You're free to your opinion, but trying to bully everyone else into tiptoeing around your feelings is a shitty way to behave.

You win this round.

How am I bullying everyone? this is the first time I've ever spoken out about it, and I'm not even doing it in a rude manner. I didn't call the OP names or anything, I politely said that it's not a laughing matter.
-
Telling people that they have to stop making jokes because it hurts your precious little sensitive feelings is pretty shitty. If you don't like those jokes, then don't make them and don't take part in them. But don't expect other people to censor themselves just because it makes you sad if they don't.
-
I'm guessing you've never contemplated suicide before, they're not just "precious little sensitive feelings." I never told the OP to censor anything, he made that decision himself. I just stated my opinion. This is a petty argument because you have no idea where I'm coming from, but the bottom line is there is certain things that just shouldn't be joked about, and one of them is suicide.
-
I'm guessing you've never contemplated suicide before, they're not just "precious little sensitive feelings."
As I told the other guy, I have been suicidal, but feel free to keep making assumptions about what I do and do not understand :^). I challenge you to come up with an explanation for why topics should be censored without resorting to "muh feelings".
-
It's not just "muh feelings," it's the feelings of countless other individuals who have been directly affected by it. It's also just basic consideration and conscientiousness towards others. What is the point of joking about something that is just going to upset others? To get a quick giggle? The fact is that you would never joke about suicide in front of someone's face, but the safety blanket that is the internet allows people to joke about whatever they want because of the fact that nobody can do anything about it.
-
So it still just comes down to precious feelings. Ok. Still not stopping. Also, nice assumption that I only joke about it online. I'm noticing a pattern that all your arguments are based on feelings and assumptions. You're not very smart are you?
-
You never answered my question. Why would you joke about something that clearly upsets a large number of people? Hmm, you saying that I'm making assumptions really is ironic. I thought we were discussing this like adults, but instead you go and make an assumption of my intelligence, and completely avoid the entire point of my last post. I think most people would consider an environmental engineering major with a 3.4 GPA in his first year of college would have a decent amount of intelligence, so I'm going to take one out of Camnator's book here and say, the only one who's making baseless assumptions is yourself. Unless you're going to answer my question and not result to childish insults, I am done with you.
-
Why would you joke about something that clearly upsets a large number of people?
Because on principle, I believe that nothing, under any circumstances, is off limits to humor. If a joke is clever enough, I will make it/enjoy it, regardless of subject. If other people decide they want to be offended by it, then that's their problem.
-
Fair enough, that's your opinion, and I'll respect it. That's all I needed to know, all the other shit was unnecessary
-
Have you ever tried it? If not, I wouldn't suggest joking about it.
-
As a matter of fact I have been suicidal, so keep making assumptions buddy :^). Also, nice argument, your statement totally doesn't just rely on "muh feelings".
-
Then why the -blam!- would you joke about it?
