What annoyed me was how a spartan with no training NO TRAINING in the energy sword knew how to use it even besting the elites and sword combat -_-....

Really? Out of everything wrong with spartan ops. That is what you chose?
-
Dude a spartan knowing how to use a plasma sword! It's like if you trained since you were a child to shoot a rifle then an alien comes herp derp and kills you so quickly like if he were a god of rifles and it was his first time using it
-
'god of rifles' I have no idea why but I lol'd

I guess you missed the part where it's Minors who are equipped with Energy Swords in Halo 4? The Energy Sword is a weapon of nobility in Sangheili culture, for thousands of years Minors were not allowed to use Energy Swords because it was typically a weapon reserved for high-ranking military figures and aristocrats. These are inexperienced warriors who have broken away from tradition, not experienced sword masters. In comparison, humanity have no such discriminatory protocol in regards to who can and can't use an Energy Sword. It would make complete sense for the IVs to experience fighting against Energy Sword-wielding Sangheili and even use the weapon themselves because they have the War Games simulator.

Edited by RetroLaserbeak: 1/22/2014 7:39:44 AMThere's this thing called the 'War Games, a VR training arena for S-IV's, I'm sure you've heard of it... in fact, I bet you've been in it. Also, it stands to reason the UNSC would teach their troops (especially Spartans) to use Covie tech.

I'm not disagreeing with you. But, there are a lot worse things about the abomination, which is spartan ops.

Care to share? We're talking CG episodes and narrative here, not gameplay missions: there was a lot very obviously wrong with those.

The visual cut scenes looked great, but the dialogue in them had no substance. It was a common theme with halo 4's story. I just didn't care about anything they were doing. 343 did a horrible job of getting the audience involved with the study. Bungie did it best.

Well there's only the button pressing, eggheads, er mah gerd Halsey she's evil even tough we won the war because of her, and Palmer
-
Aye. But they're minor quibbles with the narrative. Besides the button-pressing, of course; there was a hell of a lot wrong with the gameplay missions, but they were still fairly fun because of the the Halo combat cycle and sandbox.
