I drive rally, and it's actually quite taxing on you when you're going about 100kph into a wide hairpin right, while also keeping control of your car and trying to beat the top time. it's hard work, but it's worth it to see your name at the top of the board and getting the gold.
it is when your only real knowledge of the course comes from someone on the other side of an earpiece in your helmet looking at the course ahead who's constantly trying to keep ahead of you in terms of instruction.
What rushes through your mind as you rush into a blind corner with only your co-driver's word to keep you on the road? Rally is such an amazing race to watch.
what goes through my mind is a twinge of fear followed by "you got this bro, just do it and do it fast." and then the Gs kick in, my stomach lurches and I slide a bit in my seat, and I think "This is what it's really about."
