What do nine year olds need with an iPhone 5? I'm 15 and don't need a bloody phone?

I guess parents just spoil kids nowadays. I don't even have a phone anymore, I had one which was Htc Hero (pretty old) but it eventually broke for some reason and I haven't had a phone since then. I don't really call much and I don't need to text so ye I find phones useless atm.
