Psychological...
...torture
-
"if we wer in bar u wud beet ur arse" That's a threat. Is it psychological torture?
-
Because kidnappers totally won't kill you
/sarcasm
-
You don't kill someone who you're using as leverage (IE ransom).
-
Or kill them if they're crazy
which they are. Who the hell asks for a PSP?
-
They asked for any sort of "Playstation gaming system" at first. They probably wanted a PS4. I'm gonna open myself up here and ask why nobody has pointed out that they beat her when arguing against me and the definition of torture.

Yeah you ruined the fun

Her body and mind was deliberately subjected to unpleasant sensations in order to get something out of her. While it's not as painful or unpleasant as some more commonly known forms of torture it still is torture.
-
Is a parent scolding a child to get good behavior torture, then? It's deliberately unpleasant to achieve a goal. Is the IRS nagging for taxes torture? It harasses you endlessly to get money.
-
Torture is listed as the action or practice of inflicting severe pain on someone as a punishment or to force them to do or say something, or for the pleasure of the person inflicting the pain. And it is listed as great physical or mental suffering or anxiety. Being forced to drink certain combinations of drugs and alchohol can most likely induce pain and uncomfort. Not to mention the pyschological aspect of it, considering she was kidnapped by a bunch of psychos and was terrified because she wasn't able to tell if she was going to be killed or not. Technically it is torture.
Being forced to drink certain combinations of drugs and alchohol can most likely induce pain and uncomfort.
That just sounds like it would make you fall asleep.
-
Depends on what drugs are used. There are a wide variety of them that induce many different effects. Some painful. Paired with alchohol who the hell knows what you'd feel. I doubt it's nice though and it had to be painful if they're trying to get something out of her.

Supposedly they threatened to have someone with HIV -blam!- her
-
But did they actually go through with it? No. Not torture.

I'll just leave this here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychological_torture

With such a broad definition, you can call any threat or insult torture.
-
So if I slowly kill your family and forced you to watch, I would be "charged" with murder and torture (in the sense that your family suffered an excruciating death) but all I did to you was insult you. Sometimes I think its a mistake to make our laws so broad and our terms so vague because our nation is slowly losing what's most valuable: common sense.
So if I slowly kill your family and forced you to watch, I would be "charged" with murder and torture (in the sense that your family suffered an excruciating death) but all I did to you was insult you.
Other way around. By the given definition, I would be torturing you if I were to say "im gunNa kil u n000b," because I am threatening physical violence.

Edited by God: 12/27/2013 2:44:30 AMPlease state the "given definition" you are using as reference for A) I doubt you have read the whole article and B) Probably read the first two sentences and misunderstood it.
