I REALLY didn't like GTA IV, so I would like to know if GTA V is any better.

4 RepliesEdited by Madman Mordo: 9/20/2013 10:01:07 AMIt's an improvement in every way except for maybe the Wanted system. In IV, the police were practically neighbourhood watch members, but in V, they're hyper lethal trained black ops agents that will treat you like an enemy of the state for running someone over. They've went from one extreme to another.

2 RepliesSo far, it's better in every way. I haven't had any trouble with overzealous 5-O like other people have said either, the wanted system seems pretty fair to me TBH.

Hell to the yes.
-
Yes except for the ninja police officers

Think Vice City only more beautiful, more controversial, bigger, louder, funnier, explosive, and more epic. If GTA IV was dreary and grey, then GTA V is a -blam!-ing rainbow slapped in front of the sun.

I actually really loved GTA IV's bleak atmosphere, it was a nice change of pace for the series. Having said that- Yes, broadly, GTA V is much better.
-
Short answer: Yes. Long Answer: Absolutely yes.
-
Of course
-
It is by far
-
In my opinion it definitely is better than GTA IV.
-
In almost all aspects, yes Doesn't exactly make it GOTY material though

-
Yes better than sa no

In my opinion the driving mechanics are some of the worst I've ever seen in a game where driving is a major component. I also hate the characters so far. But as they say "different strokes for different folks".

that's a matter of opinion.

1 ReplyEdited by Smarkdow: 9/24/2013 10:49:50 AMSo far, I'm really liking it more than GTA IV. The world is a lot more colorful, far better than the drab, grey Liberty City. The writing, as is standard with Rockstar products as of late, is great. The driving mechanics are an improvement too; the boat physics of GTA IV are gone, for the most part. Police are very aggressive, maybe a little too aggressive. The whole game doesn't seem to take itself so seriously like GTA IV did, which I think is good. It's just an overall improvement. However, I do have some complaints. You die a little too quickly; I wish you could take a little more punishment. I don't like how sprinting for too long damages your health. There are some things about the UI that I dislike: text is too small and I'm not a fan of the way the health, armor, and special ability meters are grouped together underneath the map; it just seems cluttered to me. And the gunplay isn't that great, which is surprising considering Max Payne 3 had great gunplay and shooting mechanics, and that was developed by Rockstar; you would think they would implement some of the better mechanics from Max Payne 3, but that didn't seem to happen. Despite those complaints, I'm having a lot of fun. It definitely deserves yhe praise it gets.

In every way possible... Yes

2 RepliesI'm digging it a lot more so far. Honestly, I can't see a single aspect that was better in the previous game. The story is more interesting to me, the missions are more fun, the writing is phenomenal, there are hilarious side missions, random events RDR style, more vehicles, and a better environment. Still don't like the driving except for ATVs and Motorcycles, but you can't win them all.

13 RepliesBy better you mean more glitches yes

Cops are still stupid and to aggressive. Said -blam!- you to a cop get shot in the face. what ? Also if you try a run away from cops they just shoot you before even trying to chase you. No cop missions either so that sucks Also think you should be able to take about 15% to 20% more damage then you can you die to fast.
-
Yes, by far
-
Edited by Sapid: 9/23/2013 9:32:53 PMYep. Its way better, my only complaint is that while its not a super hard game, I seem to die easier when messing around. If I do something stupid there isn't much forgiveness either, but I think it adds some nice challenge to the game.

Yes. Rockstar have made up for the utter shit that was gta IV with gta v. Buy it

The overall world and graphics are much better, but I don't know how well keyed are the sounds are you motor cycles.
