Interesting piece; but what guy?
Any confirmation this guy actually worked for Microsoft, let alone in xBoxOne development? - nothing in the article or the source to show he worked at Microsoft at all...
...and as a blogger, if I wanted to get my opinion out there; this would be a great way to do it.

Edited by Misha: 6/21/2013 2:23:49 AMI know a lot of people won't accept it, but there is an insider on Neogaf (goes by crazy buttocks on a train), who leaked a ton of information pre-E3 that was nearly all correct (only one thing wrong) that confirmed this. Aside from that, I also posted in a private group why I think this is very credible. If you want me to post that reasoning, I will.

Edited by Obsric: 6/21/2013 2:47:40 AMWould love that link - nothing I enjoy more than a well thought out position. I'm willing to concede that Pastebin is a perfect place for a disgruntled employee to speak out anonymously. However, as we saw from the information released last year on Destiny, things tend to change. Activision court documents indicated a 2013 release, while an auxiliary staff member said Destiny was "WoW with a SciFi skin". (sorry - no link for these, hopefully you remember?) It is possible (and as we've seen over the last few days) that things changed at Microsoft, especially given the initial response from e3. The official statement not only has no mention of the demo mode, but I would argue actually infers no time limit.
Give your family access to your entire games library anytime, anywhere: Xbox One will enable new forms of access for families. Up to ten members of your family can log in and play from your shared games library on any Xbox One. Just like today, a family member can play your copy of Forza Motorsport at a friend’s house. Only now, they will see not just Forza, but all of your shared games. You can always play your games, and any one of your family members can be playing from your shared library at a given time. Here is what I posted in a group about why I think its pretty credible:
Even if it isn't true, I can still see it being a completely viable story. I don't think MS changed their policies because people were overtly whining on the interwebs. The One had very little momentum going for it. I mean look at E3. All they wanted to do was talk about games to get gamers excited.... and well no one is talking about the games on the system at all. Its all talk about policy. Even among people who have been in support of the system the whole time. If Microsoft had honestly thought that this would of shifted any momentum from Sony to them, they would of been going nuts trying to get the message out. If the pastebin story was true, or something similar to it, it really wouldn't of done them any favors to release info about it since so many extreme perceptions were created from misinformation (see the one vs ps4 sharing pic). I think it would of hurt MS even more if they were to release something like this rather than just overtly cancelling all of their plans and try to initiate them slowly over the first few years of the console.
You're right, stuff always changes. The official policy was pretty vague in how it would work, so that's where all the misconceptions came from which is what I kind of touch on in my reasoning.
