Everyone starts out as human? Interesting, I guess sometime later in the game (still very early in though) you will get the option to become either an Awoken, Exo, or remain Human.

That's gotta be misinformation. At GDC, they said you'd be presented with race choices at the beginning. They took pains to say that you would know right off the bat what you would be based on the look and feel of the races.

Maybe at some point early on, after a tutorial or intro or something, your guardian get's badly injured and has the chance to improve themselves with tech (exo), heal normally over time (human) or put faith into the traveller (awoken).
