I've never played an MMO, though I had similar experiences to yours in Halo 2, except I was in the position one them occupies, and the equivalent of you was a nine year old (I was 13) that joined the custom game I thought I had set to private. Said nine year old proceeded to invite all of our mutual friends and then some, and they all took full advantage of proximity chat without uttering a word (I wasn't looking at the screen during this time... duh). The resulting chaos was legend.
So I guess what I'm trying to say is that I have some hate by association for you, but don't take it personal.
