All I know is, I didn't get enough as a kid, which is why I'm 23, single, part-timing at a supermarket with no gf and a useless degree in English language.
Yay.
Still, I'm more confident these days than I ever use to be. :)

I don't think it's right to blame your lack of self esteem and compliments as kid, for everything that goes wrong currently in your life. Coming from someone who never really had any self esteem till I moved out after graduation, it's best to make your own. Don't rely on other people to tell you how great you are. You have to think and truly believe it yourself, in order for other people to.

Well you should attempt to change it. Decide your own faith and future. Don't rely on pure luck alone.
