Don't be a fool. Meta killed Tex without AIs. Keep in mind that while he did have help from Wash, Wash isn't exactly special when it comes to Freelancers. York said Wash was the worst one. Now he definitely improved, but he still is nothing compared to the Meta. Also, Tex had multiples weapons, traps, and mines set up and still couldn't win. He is garbage in that video since that is before The Blood Gulch Chronicles.

That was Agent Maine, not the Meta. Bit of a difference. Kind of like using 8-year-old Bruce Wayne in place of Batman.

...what the hell kind of analogy is that? You honestly believe Maine becoming Meta is the same as an 8 year old compared to a technology enhanced adult vigilante trained in martial arts? What the -blam!- am I reading?

Maine was a pretty average Freelancer, albeit damn tough and strong even by their standards. The Meta, on the other hand, is a nigh-unstoppable killing machine who managed to take out Tex even after she had prepared to fight him. With his full powers, yeah, he does make Maine look horribly insignificant by comparison.

The Meta is still a piss poor fighter. Even in a 2v1 fight with Wash on his side, Meta was thrown around and curb-stomped like a ragdoll for the entire fight, and even [i]then[/i], all that happened was that Tex got put in a capture unit, not killed. Maine was a bit of a joke before he got Sigma. Granted he had some awesome moments after that, but even then Carolina, the Dakotas, York, C.T and Washington display meaner fighting techniques and superior tactics to the Meta. And let's not forget the eventual death of Meta by simulation troops pulling him off a cliff with a puma. :P

Edited by IVI1CR0S0F7: 4/27/2013 10:16:56 PMTex has reflexes. Meta has endurance. He isn't a bad fighter and he wasn't getting his ass kicked left and right during his final fight with Tex. Tex has much faster reflexes than The Meta, so she could land punches on him easily and avoid his. The Meta's main thing is to out endure his enemy. He can take much more punishment than should be humanly possible. There is nothing Tex could do to kill The Meta. Break his spine? She did that and he kept coming.

It wasn't as one-sided as you're making it sound. He didn't have all of his powers and Tex had a hell of a lot of prep time, setting up explosives and upgrading her armor. And the Meta still beat her. Maine was, yeah, pretty underwhelming in a fight, but the sheer amount of pain he could take was unbelievable.

Regardless, it was still a 2v1, and when it came down to it, Wash and Meta were getting embarassed pretty badly. And she didn't upgrade her armor at any point... I guess we will have to agree to disagree. That said, I will agree with you that Maine/Meta is one hell of a tank of a dude. I don't want to come across as some Meta-hater because I still think he's a badass and a great addition to RvB, just not as much as Tex. Plus, Meta gets some of the best musical scores; the above video being one of my favourite RvB songs, it's so....spine tingling.

She did upgrade her armor. Notice the shoulders. Wash was a little out of his league, but if Tex hadn't prepared beforehand he'd probably have fared a bit better.
