  • Too small for me to read on my Ipad, but I think I get the gist of it. Thanks.

  • When bolt action .22 rifles are so cheap, there is literally no excuse, aside from the complete lack of .22 ammo everywhere.

  • I'm too young to own one.

  • Not really, you can own one at any age. You must be 18 to buy one, but you can get one as a gift. Honest, every suburban and rural family should have at least one .22. As far as I am concerned, no survival bag, or bug out bag is complete without at least one .22. You never know when you have to rely on hunting to survive. Rabbits, squirrels, birds, etc... You can even kill a deer with a .22 if you know shot placement. It's not legal to do so while actually hunting, but in survival, it doesn't matter.

  • So if I get caught with one out in the forest I won't get in trouble even though I'm sixteen?

  • It would depend on the state, though it really should be used only in a survival situation. It's not illegal to own a rifle, at sixteen, nor is it illegal to poses a rifle at sixteen under supervision. If you are going out into the wild at your age, I would hope you are either doing it because you are in a survival situation, or are under supervision anyway.

  • Flat out reckless, especially in Florida. Though considering Florida, I am sure any LEOs will be lenient with you. Still, very reckless.

  • Why would an LEO be involved? Are you referring to the 22? Also, I don't really have anyone to supervise me. And I don't plan on waiting a couple years to go camping.

  • If it's just camping, don't worry about it as much. Just don't let the skunk ape get you. Random stops do happen, and from what I understand a lot of Florida is park land, right? Park wardens patrol, even out to remote campgrounds. Though not sure the legality of going onto parkland in Florida with a firearm.

  • How'd you know about skunk ape? You been down here before or something?

  • Nope, I've just always been interested in Cryptids, and I've read the Skunk ape has a nasty reputation for being rather mean.

  • What is it anyway? Is it a real ape that's just out in the woods or is it a myth?

  • It's a type of bigfoot. Said to be a little smaller in stature. Witness accounts say that it emits a foul odor, and that you smell it before you see it. That is why they call it the Skunk Ape.

  • Huh. That would explain the weird ass calls I heard out there a couple years back.
