So instead of using money on education where our stupid country needs it the most, we're going to get television ads.......

If adverts did nothing they would not be on TV, so they must be pretty good, people watch TV a lot so adverts are a good way to get awareness on a subject. Also what good is an education to a dead 6 year old?

If you've ever been on facebook, the amount of improper grammar and stupidity flying around there makes you concerned how the next generation will turn out to be. Being on TV doesn't automatically you'll generate attention or sales, I saw a commercial for snuggies the other day, and I don't have a snuggie right now do I? I'm serious, this next generation is full of idiots, the otehr day in history class "So then Benjamin Franklin went to Paris, Johnny, do you know where Paris is?" "Ummm, London?" so lev me alone u stoopid slut no 1 lieks u. GTFO *trollface* lololoolololololol xD

Your basing the effectiveness of advertising on your own experience? That's foolish. Also people don't have to use grammar online or spell correctly, it was during WW2 Winston Churchill first used "OMG" so shortening words and phrases have been around longer than most of us. The only difference is, we actually found a way for it to be useful since online messaging systems make a character limit so shortening things and no grammar makes it easier. Also America's education sucks a lot of balls, but I know the UK's isn't that great either despite being the best place to go for a university course.
