Why do you need to plug in for GPS?

  • When phones use GPS, especially in a navigation type app it goes through the battery super fast. You could drain it in about an hour

    Yes, exactly that. I also just got the exact model of my car, 2012 Nissan Altima Coupe 2.5s. I've been doing some searching, but I can't find exact specs for the port. I'll have to check how else I could power it.

    The reason I wanted to use a USB port was for it's positioning, but I suppose with a long enough cable and some clips, I could use a car adapter. Just need to make sure I secure the cable properly, it's not something I want to be messing around with mid-trip. edit: Know where I can get clips like the one in [url=http://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/products/accessories/chargers-and-cables/fast-car-charger-with-cables-and-clips-9UUC.001.11/#]this[/url] kit?
