Doesn't microsoft usually have a conference in March or something, like GDC i think it is but i cannot remember. I think they'll have to reveal it soon in order to be in with a chance of running alongside the PS4, unless they've got something really good hidden up their sleeves.

GDC isn't a Microsoft conference, it's the Game Developers Conference. But it is possible we might hear something out of there. But with something as big as a new console, I expect it will get it's own show.

Oh okay thanks i couldn't remember what it was. My minds been a bit hazy to say the least. Although revealing it there would be fairly smart as it would practically eclipse anything sony tries to do for hyping the ps4.

Thing is, Sony did it right with it's conference. You had the hardware details, controller specifics, and then a shit ton of people coming out and showing off good looking games that are being made for the PS4, and could potentially be launch titles. If Microsoft goes the route of revealing at GDC or E3, without it's own timeslot on a day, it could hurt. At E3, you're going up against Sony and Nintendo who have, in the past few years, eclipsed Microsoft. GDC would be too much of a distraction with everything going on as well. Microsoft needs to pick a day, and just lay a ton of info out. No other developers on that day, nothing else.

Fair point entirely, they will be at risk of other things taking the spotlight. Unless they do the microsoft conference/reveal a day before GDC starts and use GDC to answer questions about the console. That way they can get alot of info out before the distractions start and use the event to offer lots of marketing and advertisement for it then and there. The only way i see is that they need a day to reveal practically everything about it, but have it near a main event as well to spin that to their advantage...although it's microsoft; i hope it isn't as cringeworthy as the kinect demo from e3. Those little kids going "fist bump" had me facedesking.

Well thought out gentlemen, as for what is in store for us. God help us if it's fist bumping 10 year olds again.
