I'm debating XP still, why the rush?

I'm annoyed that they're apparently not going to actually name new releases and are apparently just going to go 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, etc. Also, I haven't used it, but I'm seeing a lot of negative and "meh" feedback. I'm mildly curious, but I don't like how simplified it looks in comparison to Vista and W7.

I went from XP, to Vista, to 8. It's not that hard to make 8 look identical to Vista, which I did do at first. After awhile, some of the extra features became kind of useful. It's easier to move between multiple programs at this point. I haven't bothered to learn the ins and outs, and I only got it because it came on my new laptop, but so far I'm okay with it.
