The only part that really sucks is when the Knights warp at you. You just start over, learn how best to defeat them, and move on, but I found that particular aspect to be cheap.

Yeah, i finished it the next morning without issue. Can honestly say it was the easiest by far.

As far as easy, I don't think that is an accurate depiction. Granted, I was one of the first I know who had it done on Legendary, but it really did not play that much differently than what I recall from Halo 3, ODST, Reach, or CE(A) on Legendary. I believe the main reason so many are saying that this was the easiest is that they already know what and how to play Halo campaigns. Noob combo still is the fastest way to defeat Elites, or a needler. I don't believe this campaign was any less difficult than others, and honestly it had a lot of similarities to past campaigns. There were times it felt like I was playing Sierra 117, The Library, Assault on the Control Room, and Regret.

I think the plasma pistol overcharge homing is just way too much. I know you could miss in CE and Halo 3 but in Halo 2, Reach, and Halo 4, you're pretty much guaranteed a hit, especially since the enemies are so slow.

I do agree to a certain extent that the similarities and experiences of the previous games helps reduce the difficulty curve, I would maintain that this is the easiest. In saying that though, Reach was particularly easy too. Speaking of the noob combo, i think i resorted to it once purely because of a lack of ammo. Needler is always good fun mind you :)
